I am letting my hair grow with the plan to cut it off and donate it when it is long enough. There are several organizations that make real hair wigs for people taking cancer treatments. Pantene Beautiful Lengths, Wigs for Kids and Locks of Love are a few that I have heard of.
Has anyone out there done this? What organization did you donate to?

That's really admirable. I've been thinking of doing that ever since I found out probably almost a year ago. My hair is not long enough right now though, and when it was longer, it was quite uneven so it wouldn't have been usable, I think. If it grows out nice and even, I will definitely consider giving. I'm told that some organisations do not necessarily use all the hair that is donated and they're not obligated to tell you if your hair was used to make a wig for a cancer patient, which I find is quite unacceptable, so when I do donate, I definitely want to make sure that my donation will be used for the purpose I intended. :)
