changing colors? Mine are and it's too early!! Here in North Carolina, trees don't normally change colors until late September but because of the drought we've been experiencing, it's caused the a lot of the leaves to change earlier than normal. Is it like that in your area? I'm not ready for fall and winter just yet!! boo hoo!! With all the problems we've had since the end of April, hubby and I haven't had much time to swim in our pool I know we'll have next year, God willing but still... I want my summer to stay longer!! Don't you?

I love the autumn and the winter, so I love to see the trees start dropping their leaves. I've got one tree that starts shedding mid-August, usually, and it's almost bare already. Most of the others are still green, but I've noticed more and more of them slowing down their growth. I'll be glad for the cool weather, but understand you wanting to swim in your pool!

I can't say I agree with you... lol I hate winter because it's so cold!! brrrr!! But I don't like summers either because it's too hot but I do like a relativly cool or warm pool to swim in but in truth, fall and spring are my two favorite seasons because of the changing of colors. Winter is a coming whether we like it or not but since you love it, I hope you have a great one for I hear it's going to be a long one this year....

Yes, I have noticed the odd few and I think to myself, "August?" It seems to have been such a short summer. Our leaves are changing due to cooler nights. The thought of fall is always somewhat sad and I don't think any of us like to wade through snowbanks. Given the impossible to predict weather patterns, we may still have some sunny, summer days to look forward to. I keep my fingers crossed.

I hear that winter is coming sooner and will last longer this year. This is exactly how I feel about that --- Oh I hate winter so bad because it's too darned cold!! I have enough winter clothes to keep me warm but it doesn't change how I feel about it. lol The reason our trees are changing so soon is because of the drought we've been having but we've gotten some rain tonight and it's suppose to carry on till Saturday night! Gee, I think that's a bit much but mother nature does what she wants to do. I hope we have a few more weeks of summer and I'm with you... I'll keep my fingers crossed. lol

It is still a little early for the trees here in Guelph Ontario to change colour, but fall is definitely on it's way. When I went to leave my apartment this morning, I tripped over a bundle of Sears christmas Wish catalogues. It's AUGUST, and they're talking about Christmas? What gives? When winter comes, I'm ready to hibernate!!!

August and already Christmas books are out? Geeze, what's next? The decorations? lol Yeah, I think that's a wee bit early but then the merchants are in a hurry to make the first sale for Christmas... Can I hybernate too? Please? Please? Pretty please?????? I hate winter!! Pretty please?!!!!! LMBO!!

Here in SE Georgia the leaves are still pretty green. As I dislike the hot, hot humid summers here I cannot wait for fall. An hour ago it was 89F but the feels like temperature was 97F with all the humidity.

I was born and raised in eastern Virginia and it was hot and awfuly humid there too and I always said, if I can get away from here I will in a heart beat! and I did by moving and settling down in NC and further inland. It's still hot and humid but not nearly as bad as it was in Virginia. And VA has been known to have terrible winters, snow up to past my knees. UGH!! I hate snow with such a passion because it's wet and cold both!! Now one or the other I can handle but not both!! lol Anyway, due to the lack of rain here, we've had water restrictions and burn bans everywhere but now we're getting some rain tonight and it's suppose to carry on till Saturday night! Ugh!! That's a wee bit too much but mother nature is going to do as she pleases...

Yes! I just noticed one of our trees' leaves were already all yellow. I could not believe they were already changing! We are on a hill and can see miles and miles of trees and there are already different shades of trees appearing! I love the fall because of all the color changes but it is way too early. It seems my summer has just been a few weeks. Where did it go? God bless you!

Miles and miles? Oh you're so lucky!! I would love to live on a mountain like that or even a hill as some would call it. The scenery would be incredible! Maybe some day I'll be as lucky. I want a place with lots of trees like I have now but I want more land so my fur babies can roam freely without getting ran over. I'm working on it! lol However, I agree, summer has gone by too fast but then I've been pretty darned busy with caring for mom and dad so it's no wonder it's August already. Whew! But the leaves are changing a bit too early due to the lack of rain but we got some rain tonight and it's suppose to carry on till Saturday night! That's a wee bit too much but mother nature is the boss! lol God bless you too!!

The trees are still pretty green in Pennsylvania. Summer has seem to go by fairly fast though. What sucks is that the weather hasn't been that warm, so we haven't been able to take advantage of our pool. Usually it will start getting warm in September, but who knows with this weather.

Our summer has been weird too, it didn't get as hot as it usually does but it did get warm enough to heat the pool and I did get to swim in it but it's been a busy summer for me with my mom being so sick that I haven't had nearly as much time to swim as I would have liked. That's ok though, my mom is alive and getting better all the time so I can't complain.

I have noticed that some of them are, again the UK did not have a good Summer I wonder if we ever will have decent Summers again? I remember the long Summers and then you did not mind the Winter coming but now they seem to be short

I agree gabs, it does seem to be shortened a bit but then again, as we get older, the faster time flies on by. I used to think adults were crazy when they said that but now that I'm older, I see where they were coming from. I'm going to miss the long days once fall and winter get here and not to mention the time change too. I wish they'd leave the time alone and put it the way it's suppose to be and stop changing it.

In tropical countries we don't enjoy seeing the changes of colors. It is green all year round and you're lucky to experience 4 seasons. It is hot here and wish that I can enjoy winter as well.

Really? Wow. That's interesting! I thought you'd experience some sort of color change... hmmmm I guess not. I guess you're right, I am lucky to experience the four seasons. The only thing is, I hate winter time because it's so cold!! I wouldn't mind a little bit of cooler air but down right biting cold, ugh! I hate that. Have you ever been out of your country before and experienced anything other than your one season? I can imagine you haven't and how it would be such a cool thing to experience for the first time. My God kids live in Florida and have never seen snow and I hope to show it too them one day.

Some of the leaves are changing around here. I like it becasue I love the fall. I will probably be able to swim until early or mid oct. because it is warm around here. I dont like the summer with all its heat humidity and bugs so I am ready for fall to come anytime. The rest of this week is supposed to be fairly cool and I cant wait.

Oh I love fall too because it's not too hot and not too cold and with all of nature showing it's glory in it's ever changing colors but I can wait for that because I want more time in my pool before it has to be shut down for the year.

I just had to go outside and look at the trees to check, and no, I am pleased to say that as yet no changes. Mind you we have had tons of rain so it is not surprising, although we have been forecast a good week this week so I am really pleased about that! It has been an awful summer for us weather wise.....again.

We've had the opposite, we're praying for rain and we've gotten some tonight and it's suppose to carry on till Saturday night. Now THAT is a bit much but it's mother nature for ya. It does what it wants and that's that. lol Maybe our leaves will turn green again for a little while longer. It remains to be seen. vinesh_kcm - What is your point?

Well, there used to be a lot more trees around Port of Spain, Trinidad than there are now. People just chop them down to put up awful concrete things. I can't even call them buildings, some of them. A tree is such a beautiful thing and so many people think they're inconvenient. As for the environment. That must be on the TV or in the home appliances they stack up without end.

That's so sad. With out trees, we would'nt be able to survive because they provide the oxygen that we breathe. I love trees for the beauty of them as well as for what they do for us. People are going to regret taking so many of them down like they're doing. You watch and see.

Oh wow, that really sucks! I hate fall because it is an omen of winter and the end of summer, it's so sad! I live up North in Pennsylvania, and the trees are still as green as they were in the beginning of summer, but it has been a bit more dry, but probably not as try as it in in North Carolina, since we have had no color changes in our foliage really, though it's really hard to keep the vegetable garden thriving because of the lack of water. Last year it was a lot worse here, it was so dry and arid. Rain tends to only come when you don't want it to come, and then it's not here in the time when we need it the most heh. You should still have plenty of time to swim in the pool, just because the trees are changing due to dryness it doesn't mean it won't be warm, though after labor day it may be a little downhill with the weather. I really really don't want our days to become shorter, how depressing, I really hate the cold and snow, though this year I will welcome it because I am leaving the country this December for a month . Well anyways, happy mylotting and have a great day! Good luck trying to get time to jump into that pool, savor the last bit of summer before it's over, or else the next chance you get to go in you will be another year older

Yes it sucks in a big way!! lol But that's life, I guess. My summer went on by me without my getting to enjoy it but nonetheless, the time has gone by so to me, it means, it's closer to ending the hell I've been going through. It's one way of looking at it, not the way I'd prefer but one nonetheless.

I kinda like the "tween" seasons like Spring and Fall so I'm not too sorry to see the end of summer. You're right about the foliage. I noticed that here a couple weeks ago. There were leaves on the ground and red and yellow leaves on the trees here in early August. Very unusual for this area also.

Didn't Fay help your water situation? From the weather reports it looked like the whole Southeastern US was really getting drenched. When we have a real dry year here in the West we loose a lot of pine trees to beetle, but nature seems to take care of that with wild fires. Of course humans don't care to much for either of these things, but if we just stay out of the situation nature will fix it.

Oh gosh I couldn't live somewhere that rained all the time! Ugh! That would be right depressing. When I first moved to Texas in 1991, it rained and rained and rained that I thought that's all it did there was rain. It was so bad that it flooded the newly renovated park and ruined everything. All of it was under water and it took a year for the water to completely receed. So no way could I live where it rained all the time but I'm sure you're used to it since you've probably lived there all your life.

Here in central Ontario, Canada, we didn't have much of a summer at all. It rained more days then not. I am fortuante enough to live on a lake and the level has been very high all summer, and the algae growth has been more then usual with the nutrient run off. Our maples started changing in the middle of August. Usually the poplar and birch start first, but I think with all the rain, The maples have felt the change in the soil nutrients and a number of them are shutting down early. The greatest difference we have noticed this year is in the colour of their leaves. The last few years they have been orange and gold, but this year they are the most vibrant reds I have ever seen. Not all have started to change yet, so fall colours will be lasting longer this year, but WOW, are they ever beautiful.

Oh how I do so agree!! Spring and fall are my favorite seasons because of all the beautiful colors that come out. Strange how one side of the world gets all the rain and the other doesn't such as my side. lol We're still in the negative side but we've been getting a lot of rain lately but we're catching up.
