Firstly can I say it's Great Britain holding the 2012 Olympics not England lol. Anyway for a start Great Britain has a much smaller budget than China did so I don't think they will be aiming to try and 'out do' China. It will feel like a much more localised affair and they will definately put on a show. I had an American say to me 'how is GB going to put on a better show than the US in Atlanta, its a smaller country?' It doesn't matter how big the country is it's how you organise it. Look how well we did putting on the Commomwealth Games in Manchester, that proved that we were more than up for the job in putting on the Olympic Games.

hahhaha....nice one.....got me their.... when it comes to a budget your right, "Great Britain" is a smaller country... but that doesnt mean they have to go all out with wallets empty....trying to hold the olymics... their are other ways... like being more creative and more entertaing then the chinese... England sorry "Great Britain" still has a great chance to put on a good show at the olympics, rival to that of china..... it not all about the money....

I think London can do a good job. The main point is that they should be very English in the way that the Chinese were very Chinese. Celebrate their own culture. Don't try to imitate what China did and you'll be fine.

it is going to be hard to come with something unique....... england has got a lot of history and culture..... but to be able to sell something this or make appeal to the peolpe from all around the world isnt goin to be easy....keep posting!!.

I am proud that Beijing Olympics is so successful and wonderful. I think England will give us another surprise and present a great Olympics, too. I look forward to seeing London Olympics in 2012. I love China

well i do not think its too much to ask... but yes England will have to put lot and with lot i mean really a lot of hard work to match up to china's status... china has brilliantly displayed that what a huge even Olympics should be and it was just a visual spectacle in human history... England will have to go really hard to mark their name.

Many people, especially those from western countries, have no idea how hard China tried to hold such an amazing game. It will be really tough for London to catch up with Beijing, not to mention to 'take it one step further'.....

honestly i don't think they will do it as good as china did. Since China is a communist country they worked extra hard to show the world what they are capable of. Besides how can you top 2008 men doing the same thing simultaneously. I don't think anyone can be as precise as Chinese. Even if England comes up with something amazing it will probably electronic, programmed. It won't be as difficult.

That said Great Britain isnt such a large country... also it doesnt have that many people to act as volunteers to be able to come up with something like China..... this also means England cant make as much money as the Chinese..... BUT then again look at Japan!!!!... if england does manage to pull of something amazing it probably wont to such a scale as China.... and yes they proabbly will use electronics..... AS long as its amazing and creative who really cares.... but the bigest challenge Great Britain faces are probably the venues, Great Britain has around 9.3 billion pounds to spend comapared with the japanese its very small.... they had 30 billion.... Great Britain has already quite a few stadium... thers is no point in building new ones... or kicking people out of their property to build a new one... but the anything they do build should be architecturally amazing.....or they are jus wasteing their time...... if you think about it 9.3 billion is a lot of money.... so dont count Great Britain out yet... but we can never predict how well the athlettes are gonna do ....can only hope for the best!!!!...keep posting ^-^..
