at what age did you become less concerned with makeup?

When I was in my teens and early 20's I piled on the makeup. I wouldn't go anywhere without makeup on and my husband hadn't seen me without make up. Then into my 30's until now (I'm 42) I could care less about makeup,My husband hates makeup on me,he says I look even more gorgeous showing my face naterally. At what age did you start wearing makeup? did you klump it on or go lightly? Was there an age when you stopped bothering with makeup?

I have never been big on make up in the first place. I might wear more now than I did in highschool. My complexion has always been good so I just wear a little eyeliner and mascara. Just a little lipstick.

I wore a little makeup from my teens to my early forties. Then one day I was outside without having put any on, feeling as if everyone would notice. Then I thought about it, and it seemed as if I had been wearing a mask for all those years. Why should people not see the real me? I have no reason to worry about what other people think about my appearance.
From that day I have never worn any makeup. It has made no difference to mylove life, my social life, or my career. It just saved me a lot of time and money.

Yes it does save a lot of money. And my husband says women are beautiful until they hide their beuty with all that junk (I just hope he's not saying that so I wouldn't go crazy like I used to, buying makeup LMAO! No he really means it. He will even tell a coworker or friend "you know, you would probably be very beautiful if you took all that junk off your face!,he is a great man!
Of course it doesn't make any difference in your life, makeup is just an expensive coverup and the manufacturerer try to convince you that you are covering up imperfections when really tou are covering up your perfections!

Ha. I think I wore makeup from the age of 8-12. Now, I moisturize and that's about it. I don't have time and rub and touch my face too much to maintain a perfect 'face', so I stopped bothering with it before I actually got going. My guy also hates makeup, so it's that much more incentive not to wear it!

When I am in my teens and twenties, my makeup is very heavy. I look gorgeous!! That was the comments I received from my colleagues. After having my two kids, I have no time, even to put up a lip gloss. I realised my husband is looking at me with one eyes only. I understand that how busy we are, we have to take care of our appearance. But frankly speaking with the office load and housework I cant afford the time. So husband please understand. If you want me to be gorgeous like before share the house work with me.

Hmmm..I'm only eighteen so I can't say that I am at that stage of life yet. So yes-still pretty concerned with makeup. What can I say in my defence- it makes me feel good? Lol. But I'm not one for heavy heavy makeup. Light and natural-ish does it for me. :D

I was never a big make up wearer. I always have just worn light makeup. I think the
idea of makeup is great but You cant always get the type that you like. I wish the
make up industry would make more makeup geared to those who like to ahve a natural look and people who dont want to look like they are wearing makeup.

lol that's cute, sounds like you have a wonderful hubby who loves you very much. I think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am 21 now and hate the thought of going out without make up on. i hate it beacause when i get out so many other people are wearing it and looking gorgeous, because i like an even skin tone and i hate people seeing my pimples or black heads. I think i am one of those that pile it on before they go out, but i think it's great that you have the confidence and beauty to go natural.

Since when I was a teen and even up to now (I'm already 20) I don't used to wear make-up.. I really don't like wearing make up because I know that I am not pretty of wearing make-ups...Well, sometimes I wear make-up when I go to formal party, graduation, or some very special occasions that really need to wear make-ups but during ordinary days like going to school, hanging out with my friends and my boyfriend I don't apply make-up.. I am more comfortable of applying plain powder in my face..

There was a time when I wouldnt leave the house without carefully applying cheek enhancers, eyebrows plucked to perfection and lips lined. Im in my 40 too now, and I dont own any makeup, well there might be the occasional dried out mascara hanging about in the bottom of a big makeup box Ive got, but that is now full of hair clips, combs, brushes, plaster and all other untold bathroom parefenalia (how do you spell that word). I gave up on makeup at about the age of 35, I just couldnt be bothered anymore. I wonder how many other women do the same?

I only started wearing some a year ago, and it wasn't a tone. Mostly just lipstick and eyeliner (which I used the tiny brush to make creative designs across my face and such). But I've never been terribly concerned with it, and probably won't ever be 'cause I despise having to fuss over how I look every day.

i was about 13-14 when i started wearing makeup. not like these teenagers now where they have 10 pounds of really dark stuff, just light colours just enough so you could tell i had some on. and wore it everyday. but part was through my pregnancy with my oldest, around my 20th birthday i stopped wearing it everyday. i would still put makeup on here and there when i wasn't so tired from pregnancy or exhausted after she was born from lack of sleep. but the more time went on, the more kids i had i said screw it, with baby drool and puke and lil fingers all over the face it didn't last long anyways lol. now,at 28 yrs old, i only wear it when i go out without the kids. cause then they are home with a sitter and i don't have drool, puke and lil finger wiping it off lol. but even then i don't go all out, just a lil eyeshadow, and lipstick and maybe a lil blush on the cheeks.

I've never been one to wear alot of makeup. I just don't like the feel. I was lucky enough in my teens and twentys to have a great complextion so I didn't need alot of makeup. In my 30s I wore more. But now that I'm 49 I rarely wear it. If I'm at home I don't bother at all. If I'm going out I put on a little concealer, a little blush and thats it. Since I'm always rubbing my eyes (I have dry eyes) I've skipped the eye makeup now entirely. I just don't have the desire to look like a clown. Yesterday on a commercial I saw Janice Dickenson, the model. I swear, she looks so fake and her eyelashes are so made up it looks like she has tarantulas hanging off of them. LOL

Hi there!
I remember experimenting first with lipgloss and eye brow pencils at age 15. Then at 17, in college, i wore lipstick, loose powder, and eye liner. Though i wore make up, complete with foundation, blush, et al during prom, parties, and other special occasions. But i never wore it heavy. From my early twenties up to my thirties, i wore a tinted moisturizer everytime i go out. It looked like a foundation on my face but it's really a moisturizer so it's pretty natural. I also wore lipstick, and line my eyes, and dot a little blush on my cheeks. That's all about it. But now that i am married, staying home most of the time, i never cared putting anything on my face except for that long trusted brand of tinted mositurizer.

I don´t think it´s about an age when you pile on the makeup, but the era. In the eighties EVERYBODY used piles of make up and heavy colors ugh it was awful,,,I was only 20 and looked like my mother with all that heavy make up but that was the fashion, you simple had to,,,later i softened it up a bit beacause of the natural look. Nowadays the trend is to look healthier, younger. I´m 38 and i still wear a lot of make up,and everyday, but the big difference is that it looks natural, and the foundations are a lot lighter, there is mineral makeup to feel that you hardly have any make up at all, so use this to your advantage, but please, just don´t stop using make up altogether, I hate those washed up faces!!!
