When you make coffee at home, how many scoops do you use?

I know that may sound like an odd question, but I am learning that everyone has their own method. In my family we drink very strong coffee and use a method that my grandmother came up with: Take the number of cups, divide by 2, then add 1. So 8 cups would be 5 scoops.
Do you have a fancy method, or just the good ole 1 scoop per 8 ounce cup?

I just use 1 scoop for myself since I like it strong (I have a 6 ounce coffee maker I think? it's a one person coffee cup sized).
At work when I make the coffee, they don't like me. I like to do 5 scoops for 12 cups. Mmm... black coffee!
The problem is, everyone else adds creamer and sugar to their coffee so they like weak coffee. I don't add anything and so I want coffee with flavor. Not just their flavored water.

For a 1 cup coffee maker I would use one scoop. 5 scoops for 12 cups doesn't seem like enough grounds to even make "coffee" with LOL The last place I Worked, I had to replace the scooper after I figured out that they were using a 1/2 a table spoon to measure out the coffee.

We are definitely using a different scoop!
At work we have that Gevalia coffee machine so each scoop is a couple tablespoons. Most people put 3 scoops to 12 cups. But that's too watery for me. More than 5 is kind of excessive as you get grounds in the bottom unless you double filter it (and more than 5 scoops don't fit nicely in the machine either).

The scoop I use at home is 1 tablespoon. I do double filter. I have a cuisine art coffee make that has a gold filter in it, but I also use the paper filters. I find without the water filter that is the only way to make the coffee come out balanced, regardless of what brand we buy.

Thats a nice math . will try it. But I always use one scoop for 8 ounce cup and for my husband, i put 1 3/4 scoop of coffee powder for a cup. He likes to drink strong coffee.

How big is your scooper, do you use the traditional coffee scoop or another utensil?

Just a teaspoon. My husband uses 1 3/4 to 2 teaspoons and I use one

I usually use the scoop that comes with the coffee grounds. I usually use three scoops of coffee when I make my coffee in my bun. It makes anout 6-8 cups of coffee per three scoops. I have never tried to make it any stronger. I sure couldn't stand it any weaker though.

What size scooper do you use? I I use a tablespoon for my scooper. I think actual coffee scoops - like if you buy one at the store - vary in sizes. For example, my MIL gave me a utensil set a few years ago and the coffee scooper is 1 1/2 table spoons, but my Mom gave use a set from Starbucks and the scoop is 1 tablespoon.

Yup, I can only do a scoop per cup. More than that and I'll get tremors. I do need caffeine but not that much. Only enough to lift a boring afternoon.

I have tried that and found that coffee often gets too bitter. What size scoop do you use?

For me, I use 2 scoops per 7oz, which is 1 cup. I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning, and my coffee is Starbucks breakfast blend. The scoop that I use came with the coffee maker, I think it could fill up 1 tablespoon. Do you guys think that's too much coffee for me ?
