Do you know the logic about arabic number?

The number we all use (1,2,3,etc)are known as arabic numbers to distinguishes them from the Roman numerals(??? etc),have you even thought why the "1" means one,and "2" means two......?the Roman numerals is easy to understand,but what is the logic of arabic numerals? guess! I will come back and tell you the truth!
