What Do YOU Believe It Takes To Go To Heaven?

The golden rule - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! I know too many church going bible-thumpers who are the nasty people outside of church. They drink and are abusive, yet feel that since they go to church and read the bible and believe that they will go to heaven. Personally these are the worse people.

I think you need to do all those things. Not just one but the whole lot of what you just said.

I believe that you have to know God and recognize the one he sent, Jesus Christ. That's all it takes. I don't care what people say about all the rest. I am tired of people putting conditions on knowing God and Jesus. I believe that when you die, the devil will try to "catch" you by pretending to be God or Jesus. But, if you really know God, you will see right through Satan and make it into heaven.

I know that to go to heaven I have to have a personal relationship with my Lord, Jesus Christ. If I do that, then I will be a nice person, and possibly be politically correct, but not necessarily so.(Jesus often was not) I just will not hurt people on purpose, for no reason. I will want to give, and I will want to be honest. I will want to read the Bible, and have a conversation with God, and meet with fellow believers. Those are all outcomes of a personal relationship with Christ.

i believe that heaven and hell is a state of mind. I think gave us the keys to the kingdom and we just don't know it because we are looking outside of who we are for them. we have the keys and we the ability to create our own heaven or hell right here and now. I know the Lord is love, and the Lord is not outside of me in the sky, but right here in my heart and soul. when i look inside of myself I will find my place in the kingdom

Well Im sure for us to qualify in heaven someday is we have to be a good person within our mind, heart and soul. What do i mean? Lets not follow our will nor desires. Its hard I know coz I myself is struggling with it but atleast we have to try to follow what He's will for us coz He knows better than we do and Im sure that time will come the reward for it is beyond my understanding.

A criminal dying on a cross next to Christ was given the right of way to heaven by Christ himself, simply because the man acknowledged him. Being nice, honest etc is the way we are instructed to live by the ten commandments however it does not necesssarily mean that all nice people will get to heaven. It also doesn't mean that 'bad' people will not get to heaven. Our upbringing and circumstances coupled with our educational or mental state can often shape the way we live our lives, it's part of the human codition. Accepting jesus as our Lord and saviour is the only route to heaven, regardless as to how we have lived our lives in the past.

Well, I am not convinced that there is a heaven and hell but IF there is, I tend to think that it is what we make it to be - kinda like that movie that Robin Williams was in, can't remember the name of it. Anyway, I'll pretend that I totally believe in a heaven and hell to answer your question. I think that as long as one trys to be a better person than they were the day before and respect others then I guess one would end up in heaven.
