there is absolutely no way that you can increase the speed of your internet without paying your ISP provider... the speed difference between the browsers is due to the render times taken by them and not anyhting else..

press ctrl+alt+del....in the processes tab see the the ones taking the most space....and end them ....the computer will show a warning just press ok, but yeah end only those processes which you have an idea about...i mean like winampagent...mediaplayer etc....i mean the ones which are not system files , secondly you can try not to open more then one window or tabs at the same time...but to get drastic changes you really need to spend money...
