Are your kids back in school?

Did you get all your papers filled out? It took me two hours to fill out all the papers for my son. It is crazy. He is at the same school as he was last year and it looks like they could just update the ones they have on file. It seems like it would be easier. It seems there is more and more forms every year. How long did it take you and do you think there would be an easier way?

I know what you mean! I have three kids in school and every year I fill out the same papers. I completely agree that they should just update the papers from the previous year. It took me nearly four hours to fill out all of the papers. I hate the beginning of school because of the papers.

Just wait, the public school system will be bar coding your kids soon. I home school my kids, primarilly because we travel. I know what you mean though, just show them a class picture from last year, see, same kid, just older. But the school system needs to have updated records so they can keep a file on all the cardinals and bluejays.

They kind of already are. They have an id number that they give at lunch and if they don't have the id, they don't get to eat. If they take in money they put it on an account to that id.

I couldn't agree more with you. It seems like a waste of time having to fill out papers each year for the same child. Now with my oldest this year, I had to, only because she went from elementary to middle school. I didn't like having to stand in line for 2 hours just to show two people proof of where we live, then to get into another line to get a few papers to sign. So with my oldest it was a total of 2 1/2 hours to get papers at her school, 10 minutes to fill them out. With my youngest about 15 minutes, only because a lot of the papers I took home with me to look over. It's only going to get worse as they get older.

I only have one that is school aged and afraid he dropped out before the end of the school year last year - it breaks my heart because he's very smart and could go a long way with his life and the potential he has but he's just throwing it all away. I agree though it has seemed each year there is more paperwork and longer time to 'get started'.

It used to take me about an hour to fill out the papers for my two boys. What a waste of paper! All the info was the same from the previous year! I guess they just want to be sure everything is current. It's important the have all contact information in case they need it and vaccination records. But it sure takes some time!

It does seem to take a while, and then they have lots to read. Just so they can use a computer, I have 3 pages to read and sign a paper.
