Does anyone shop at Aldi?

I went to our local Aldi's for the first time Friday. They have great prices although nothing is in brand's I know. I didn't get everything there since I'm just testing it for the moment. Over the weekend my hubby's co-worker and his wife stopped by. She said she buys a months worth of food for a family of 5 there and it only cost her $185. Our current grocery bill is around $100 a week so I find this a little tough to swallow. Does anyone else shop there?

I shop there about once a week and get produce and what staples I need that aren't on sale at my usual grocery store. Most of the food they sell is their own label but I know that everything is made by major brands just labeled different. I think their cereal is all general mills but just labeled under the aldi name. Alot of store brands are sold that way - made by a major manufacturer but labeled as private label. When I first started shopping there I would buy something different each week and try it out. I think there has only been one thing we didn't like and that was their sausage. My son loves the frozen chicken nuggets so I buy 1 to 2 bags each week of those alone. I just recently tried their salad dressing and it was really good and cheap. The only complaint I have is sometimes their produce doesn't look too great - but I figure if it doesn't look good - I just don't buy it.

I haven't tried the regular sausage. I bought some brown n serve 8pks of it in the frozen section and my family loved it. I will keep that in mind. I know what you mean about the produce. I was going to grab a bag of potatoes and they already looked a little shriveled and soft.

I shop there frequently. It's not really close to me, but I sometimes make the trip because I think it's worth it. They have excellent produce, and each month they feature eletronics or some special items. The quality of their food is acceptable although not fantastic. I can do a weeks worth of shopping for about 40 to 45 dollars. It is definitely worth checking out even if you dont plan to go there every week, you could make it a monthly ritual.

Yes, I like the special items. I bought two new laundry hampers there for $7.49 each and they are very well made. Ours is 10 to 15 mins away depending on traffic. No problem with making it weekly. I also bought 4 of their insulated bags so I can do a few errands on the way home too. $40 to $45 is amazing.

I've been shopping at Aldi's for years and I love it! They don't have many name brands but the brands they do carry are often just as good and sometimes better. Just keep trying different products and you'll know which ones you'll buy again and which ones you won't! I think you will be pleased with most of their products. It will save you tons of money in the long run.

I shop at Aldi's once a month and stock up on their inexpensive store brands. Then shop the rest of the month at another grocery store closer to my home. It is worth the trip to Aldi's though.

I shop at aldis a lot. I really enjoy the prices, being a lot less than other grocery stores. I really like their pizzas and thier sauces. The only thing I dont like is that you have to pay for the grocery bags. I have gotten around this by bringing my own or just using the boxes that they provide. I have saved a lot of money and love this store!

Hi, Vickie7978. I may go their every blue moon. At least once a year. My father-in-law and my husband's cousin shops here. They have really great prices. And, buying a month's worth of food is a good price. In one month some times people can spend more than $200.00 in groceries. So that is not that bad for a month's worth of groceries.

I shop at Aldies a lot. The prices are good and so is the produce. Their chicken quarters do have water added but that is ok since I use them for chicken soup I can slow cook them and have a nice broth for. The kids like their pizzas too. I can shop there for about 1/2 what I spend at Wal-Mart.
