Do you claim to be but when it comes down to it, you're really not? Does it depend whether you're under a deadline or stress? Do you have different expectations for different people, like friends and/or family get some slack while strangers don't, or you're patient with children but not adults, or adults but not children? Do you get more irritated if someone is MAKING you wait vs their hands are tied too and you're BOTH waiting for someone or something else? If someone is apologetic rather than nasty, are you more likely to give them a break?
Patience is supposed to be a virtue, do you believe the amount you have is part of your personality or can you increase it by testing it? Do older people tend to become MORE or LESS patient?
Sorry, you'll have to wait for my answer, I am patiently awaiting all of yours!

I guess it depends on what the situation is. With the kids I seem to have an endless abundance of patience, and my Mum has often commented on how patient I am with them, which surprises her because I have been known to be a hothead.
But there are occasions where my patience with things and people wears really thin and it snaps and whoa betide those who have caused it to snap. I would say that as I have become older I have become more patient.

Hehe.. well since I made you wait for my answer, I better get started here. I usually have more patience with kids because kids have shorter attention spans and they usually do things slower. This doesn't mean I am patient beyond what I know they are capable of though. I have very little patience for adults whom I KNOW are making me wait, and I have no qualms about telling them I know what they're doing. I also have no issue with poking at them to hurry them up, or reporting them to somebody else if I have to. I don't do this under ordinary circumstances, just when I honestly believe they are messing with me on purpose. My patience level varies by day I think.

When it comes to my work---i have to be very patient. I am a reading specialist. I do reading intervention for kindergarten to 4th grade. I intervene so that the students reading difficulty wont worsen to reading or learning disability.imagine the patience here. demanding parents, time to beat, activities and reports to prepare...etc etc etc...patience is my name.LOL
But, when it comes to professional people who cant perform their jobs well...my tops can blow up right away. or store sales clerks who seemed not to know what her job is all about, or when you eat in a restaurant tired and hungry and food will seem to take 10 years to arrive,or drivers who do not follow traffic rules...i'd immediately flare up.

I am usually quite patient. But to be honest as I age my patience reserve seems to be getting smaller. I have less patience for silly stuff.
I don't necessarily make a difference between people in the same situations, I just don't seem to accept silly stuff - silly complaints, whining, "no fair" claims etc - the way I did before.
I also don't take it on any one else when I'm close to loose my patience or I lost it already.
Interesting the fact that patience is back once people use common sense and make valid complaints.
I don't think my patience can be increased by testing it, but it can be increased once people act like people and not babies.
From what I said above I suppose you can guess what my response is to the question are older people more or less patience. I think it's less. Or rather maybe not less but just less concerned with the trivial, the nonsense, and certainly no patience when people are just idiots. I don't know how. I use to work well with idiots LOL

I am not that patient a person, when it comes to my own children, but I have a lot of patience with other people's children and with animals. Adults, on the other hand, I have very little patience for. It might have something to do with the fact that humans are the most corrupt species on the planet, though we seem to live off the planet much of the time! lol.
I think that we can build our patience levels up, but there does have to be a point when you can no longer increase it. I think I'm reaching that with my kids, especially the older ones who know better.
I used to think my partner was very patient, but that only lasted until our oldest turned 4, then his patience has kind of dropped a way a little.

I find the amount of patience I have veries depending on my mood that day. I've never been an overly patient person but I can sit for a few hours and do a craft or puzzle, no problem. However, if I'm in a rush and have a million other things to do, my patience for this kind of task (or any other that involves patience) is non existant.so all in all, it really depends on the day. I feel that as we get older our patience wears out more easily.

LOL, i love that last line! LOL tobe totally honest, i am working on mine. i don't have a lot of patients and i know that is something about myself that i need to work on. my biggest thing is waiting for people. OMG i get physically ill if people are not on time. and that is something that i need to work on.
i am working on having more patients with yourself and my children. i am a work in progress. i can't wait to see your answer mommyboo

I'm usually pretty patient. Stress does affect that though. I'm more patient with the children than with my husband and I'm usually pretty patient with co-workers.

Well it really depends on my mood. If I'm in a rotten mood I tend to be impatient. Otherwise I am patient to a lot of things. However I really get annoyed with people who arrive late simply because they were late in waking up. I mean I wake up too and I always make sure I wake up early so I would arrive on time. I just couldn't stand people like those because they tend to be unfair to the one who arrives on time.

Well i'm person who can tolerate and have a lot of patience. You would never see me getting into an argument with anyone or also fighting with anybody. And thats what all my friends love about me.
Sometimes there are friends and people who totally freak me out in college or else where but still i keep my cool and don't react vigorously. I keep keeping the person one chance after the other.
So i have a lot of patience and bear a lot of non sense too. But if its like way beyond the limit then if i lose my head the persons had it. But that has just happened once or twice till date. Otherwwise i never like getting into conflicts.
By nature i'm very friendly and forgiving too and i'm glad to be like this and possess such wonderful qualities.

Honestly, I am patient to a point. When it comes to some things, I know that I have to be patient, and I am patient, but when it comes to other things, I have little to almost no patience for it.

Hi mommyboo,
I am very patient when it comes to things that I cannot help like waiting for some papers to be approved, or projects that I need to postpone due to financial problems etc..But, when it comes to something that I know I can find ways to make it fast, I am not very patient..LOL!
Example, when applying a job, I will not wait and wait and I will be very forceful to follow up and I want to know it I have a chance or not so that I can move on and reject that job in my list!

Patiency is like boon to an individual,it may be young or old male or female,if some one has parience will win every field or anywhere.Patience in man could give all plus points in life. One who is patient then he or she will not have rebounce in any field. So ultimately patience is must for everyone to stay fit in society.

Not very patient XD. Or it makes me a bit frustated but I can wait. Waiting makes me want to sleep or do something else other than waiting though, its wasting time i think :o. I'm more patient with children I think, because they are growing up and learning so I'd be there for them and help them learn. With adults, it annoys me to have to wait sometimes, but i know sometimes im late too but less often than some of my friends are hehe :D
