Young people...what's your impressions of them?

Most older people have mixed reactions about young people. These would vary from admiration to annoyance and even pity. I worked with a lot of young people and I met a lot of them who can be considered as very responsible citizens of the country. I've also met young people who are very vulnerable and I wish that I can do something about it. There are also those who are whiners and those who are only interested in good times. But I believe that given the opportunity, they can make their family and community really proud of them.

Well...talking about the younger ones in the society. I can frankly say that most of them are so impulsive. It could be taken into account in a positive way and in a negative way as well. They don't think of the outcomes. When they think it's what they like or what they want to do, they just do it. They don't even listen to the older people including their parents for they believe that what they are doing is right. I was once young. i don't say that I'm that old now but having my own son and my own family, made me see the ideals of being young. :-)

True enough, when we were younger, our perspective were so limited. Now that we're a bit older, we get to look at the whole picture.

Ive just spent some time with my nephews both young adults, they are fabulous, they are funny and good company ,and good conversationalists too.Im not going to say that they are perfect, lol I know they arent!!but they are young and have a lot to learn. We shouldnt be tempted to come down too hard on the youngsters of today, there are good and bad in every age group, give them a chance to mature, they will go through their silly phases, but so do we mature ones!!!of course they can make their families proud.

Glad to hear about them. I hope that they'll retain those positive qualities as they grow older.

Young, old, middle-aged... you will find responsible/irresponsible; rude/polite; hard-working/lazy; confident/insecure in all age groups. Like anyone else, they are individuals so I dont have a specific impression of 'young people' in general.

Hi diutay, I have known so many young people that are very nice and helpful and I do get on with them, but for the few unruly hoodlums all youg people gets the bad name, most of the hoodlums comes from parents who do not care two hoots about where therir kids are because they are too busy getting drunk and their kids follow their footsteps. It is very sad. Tamara

In most of my work with young people, the family especially the parents play a big role in the life. I just hope that those kids do not continue the cycle that their parents started.

Yes, I have worked with young people and I know for a fact that can do so much for the society. We just have to give them a chance to do it and believe in their capacity to serve.

Yes, once they the opportunity to prove to themselves that they are capable of effecting change, then they become better citizens of the country.
