Nadal doesnt have a pretty good record at the US open .. federer also counts that as an advantage for him ... but nadal's in his best form in his career ... will he win US open 2008 n make it as 3rd grand slam in a row???

if we are going to base them all with statistics then what good statistics to base nadal's performance? wouldn't it not satisfy us with his performance since winning the roland garros for an epic 4 consecutive years? toppling federer for the third time then taking revenge at all england club for the first time, overtaking federer express in the standing and became number 1, winning the gold at beijing olympics. what more we could ask that king rafa is the strongest contender to win the flushing meadows.

well i think federer is still at his best.nadal has just won the Olimpic.he is a bit tired and still federer won't let the last big game break away from him

i won't disagree with you that federer is stil at his best but i am using recent events and situations that just happened starting from roland garros until the olympic. the momentum have shifted away from federer's way and that's the reason why king rafa is at the top spot right now. i also couldn't discount that rafa is really tired and it shows already in his struggle during the first round that took him 3 sets to dispatched a lowly qualifier with a world ranking of 130 something. while federer on the other hand had no problem at all with his opponent and another thing that would probably goes on federer's way is the type of court flushing meadows had which is hard and lastly federer's stamina as well. but everything still virtually unknown and so many things could happen along the way until the finals come.

The kind of momentum Nadal is having right now, it seems that he is unbeatable. But records are not with him as far as US open is concerned. He previously had a poor run in US open. Federer can bounce back at any moment. But I still feel Nadal has a greater chance of winning this year's US open.

Well for now Nadal looks a bit tired .....as u would also hav noticed.....he had to stretch himself in the first round itself.......but still i feel tht he is the best contender to win the US open........cause other players hav not been able to match his strength and agility ....even the unbeatable Federer lost to him so many times now....so i feel tht he will pull thi one out also....
