I know there are a lot of posts for people looking for writing jobs online. What I would like to know is what sites don't you like to write for and why? It would be very helpful to all of us to know what to avoid and why.

As for myself, I dont particularly like Associated Content and Helium. They are sites that are too particular in my opinion. Associated Content did not like the way I formatted my articles and Helium although they accept any writing to truly be paid I think you need to submit something a magazine would like. I have limited experience with these sites others probably could tell you more. I know alot of people like them.

snowy, do you write for Associated Content? If so there are about 50 people that I've found so far that write for AC who hang out on myLot. Send me your link and I'll subscribe to you if you write for them. I write for them, here is my link. http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/42897/jeff_rogers.html

I know this post wasn't directed at me but I added you as a favorite at AC and wrote you a note. I enjoy AC and have found over time, it is a good performer. The money trickles in but it does add up over time. The more you write there, the more you earn. I'd love to see the payment per article increase to numbers that they used to have. Now a days, it seems pretty consistent around the 4 dollar range.

I actually wrote an article on sites to avoid quite recently. You can view it here www.writinghood.com/Online-Writing/Top-Sites-You-Should-Not-Write-For.224793 Besides those on th list I would have to add Academia-research, my research has led me to believe that the site is not trustworthy and uses the tactic of paying new writers for a few months to lull them into a sense of security, then withold payment using a variety of means after a few months.

Thanks, I'll take a look at your article tomorrow. I am heading to bed right now so I can't comment on it yet.

Depends on what you want. There are some sites where you can get paid a ton, but you have to give up your rights as a writer, for some this is a bit of a let down. I would stay away from law paying sites. I don't have anything against AC, they pay well, especially for some of the assignments.
