He's home!

Many of you know my husband has been out of town working for a couple of months. I was worried about him driving through what was left of Tropical Storm Fay to get back home. He made it home safely and without incident this past Sunday. The weather was a little rainy and windy (nothing like what many of us experienced) but not too bad of a drive. I thank you all once again for your prayers and positive energy to help him make it safely home. What are the circumstances that kept you away from your spouse or signifigant other for a long period of time? Was there any troubles trying to reunite?

I am really pleased to hear that hubby is back safe and sound, I have never been kept away from my hubby for any reason so I have never had any worries like that. Has Fay gone away now?

Lucky you! Nothing is worse than being apart for so long from someone you love so deeply. Fay is gone... But now Gustav is brewing

Hey Dizz:)) So glad your husband is home safe and sound. My husband has had to be away from home on occasions for different jobs I always hated it. It seems like my right side is missing when he is away. BTW, I will get that discussion started for your daughter. I have had to keep myself out of mylot while all the BS was flying. So discouraging when your playground becomes a battle field. I have not forgot your young'un however. Enjoy your husband I bet he will be wore out come the end of the week! **wink**

But isn't nice for the first week or 2? I miss him after that. I was wondering where you have been. I don't let the mylot BS get to me Life is too short. When you you get so many people from all over the world, with different opinions upbringing, background.. the sh*t is bound to fly. Sooooooooo I ignore the posts that look like trouble and only respond to lighthearted or "non controversial" discussions and have fun Thanks again for doing that for Tiff.. it is much appreciated

Wow a few months. I remember when I was a kid and my mom went away to work for a few weeks at a time since she had that type of job and it was pretty tough for me and my sister since I know my dad wasnt that good at raising us and we had to stay somewhere new each day when he went to work. But thats good that you have him back and dont have to worry anymore.

How awful that must have been for you to be without your mom, and to o from place to place everyday with no stability.. I hope you have a good relationship with your mom now that you are an adult. I can't imagine how rough that must have been.

THE RIGHT PERSON has just read this discussion!!! My husband is currently working in Arizona, and I live in Canada. He was able to get away for two weeks, to come and see me, and we had a wonderful time. Flying up here he got stuck in a storm, and his plane had to circle the airport in a cloud with no visibility for an hour. Also, there was that little matter of the pot that his ex-wife may or may not have stirred at the border. Luckily she DIDN'T stir it, and he got into Canada and back into the USa JUST FINE! :) He is going to retire next month, and come to Canada to live. I am going to sponsor him. I know exactly how you feel, being apart from your husband for months at a time. It is not fun at all. I'll attack a picture of us from our "second wedding" a few weeks ago. We got married again, since we eloped last year, and our families were not there to see it.

Dang! Forgot the picture. I'll attach it here. OK technically I couldn't find a picture of US in my new computer (need to get one off of our on-line wedding album) but I've attached a picture of our hands with our new rings, which belonged to my grandparents. We didn't have those rings when we eloped.

My husband just pointed out that if the hurricane is a 3 when it hits the Gulf as predicted.. gas prices will rise again as early as tomorrow when they start evacuating the rigs.. I am not sure which is worse.. enduring a hurricane.. or high gas prices.

I'm very happy to hear that! Are you ready for Gustav? They're evacuating the rigs in the Gulf tomorrow (Wednesday). I hope your husband can stay home with you, cos here comes another one.

Hi there, We are a military family stationed in Geramny and my husband is one of those many that did a tour of duty in Iraq. It wasnt as long as some he was gone for 9months but it was hard. Especially being as myself and my daughter were here without any family aroundl. We actually didnt have trouble reconnecting but i think that is more due to the fact that we stayed in close touch via e-mail and he called when he could. I know that some do however. Maybe you can find some articles on it on the web. I can tell you however talk talk talk. We delt with nightmares and stuff like that but i have to say being close emotianlly helps. I dont know if you have kids but i would find a babysitter in needed and make sure to spend some time one on one with your hubby. Ok well if you have any more questions let me know ok. Take care and God Bless, Shelley

I did not know about your husband stuck up in the storm but he an expert driver to drive in such a weather. My company sent me to other city on their project site, as my company is a construction company. I stayed there from November, 2007 to June, 2008. The time there I spent was very miserable. Eighteen hours of continuous working daily and no holidays. Now thanks God I am back and in my own hometown. But I never left patience and kept on working and now God has given me reward of my patience. It felt so good when I came back to see my family and reunite.
