We have started the dreaded Potty Training over here ... My son is 21 months old and has started showing the signs of wanting to use the potty... so we have the little potty and have been trying to go about every hour or so... Any type of helpful story would be great!! any type of book you used or method that worked... thanks

I know when you start potty training them, when you go to underwear stick to them. If you change back and forth to pull-ups or diapers it will confuse them. My daughter started potty training a little bit before she was a year and half and I went straight to panties and it went from there, but I am also working on my little boy now thats a year and half and hates the potty but gives signs when he goes.
I know when I was a pre-school teacher I put goldfish in toliet and told him when he pottys it'll make the fish swim, so he enjoyed potty time. You can also get them a favorite toy and everytime they potty they get to play with that toy, it makes a little game out of it.or finally put soap in the toliet and have them make bubbles.

We had gotten a potty for my daughter around the time she was one. She went on it twice and then wouldn't go on it again. Then when she was about 18 months we would start and then stop and it's been that way for a while. She has just started daycare so I want her to be settled in there first before we go back to potty training again. She went in the potty a few months ago. It has been really hard for me to do but I guess its mostly my fault for not sticking to it.

I think we are on the same boat !! I have a two year old girl, who give signs that she is ready. We tried it couple of time and she was sooo excited doing it. She was able to do it for 3 to 4 days and then suddenly she stops going to the bathroom !!! I felt so frustrated....but still encourgae her to do again. I know I am of no help here...just sharing my experience. hehehe. I dont totally force her to do it, as I want her to do it in her own pace and time. Goodluck to us !

Yes we are potty training our daughter now, well she is dry now been doing it a week or so she is just over 2 though so a little older, her sister was well over 2 and half when she potty trained and again no problems just happened. Im all for letting them set the pace and making it calm and easy as possible, with lots of praise!!

well since you have a boy, this works wonders... but you need to have "daddy" show him what to do. You put a few Cheerios in the toilet and have them "aim" to dunk the cheerios lol I know it has worked on a lot of little boys... let me know if this is something you have tried and if it is working for you (if your trying it out now)
