James, it's not only humans who need the warmth bosom of their mother(boards).
Did you ever get the ant out from its fatal spotlight? I have a lot of weird little things happen to me, I just can't think of them right now. Maybe I've gotten so used to them by now that I don't think they're weird anymore.

It's not?? Well I never! lol. Nah, he's still in there and now an integral part of the family. It just wouldn't be the same these days without the little guy! Make sure you share some of your weird happenings then when you do remember them! Thanks for responding.

I meant warm bosom, not warmth... Still can't think up a thing though.

This is even more wierd.....I have a LIVE cockroach IN the door of my microwave. The door has a gap between two sheets of glass (I knew about it when I saw the cockroach). The microwave is pretty new and I can't figure out how it got in there and how to get it out. Just to check if it would die or try to get out, I switched on the microwave....but it just moved around as if it was the most comfortable thing to do.
I can't bring myself to keep any food in the microwave (even with the lid on)....it's a good thing I'm not scared of cockroaches...but it eeks me out that one is in there.....who knows...it's probabbly a whole family and I just don't know.

Oh my goodness, that sounds absolutely disgusting! Thank you at least for making me feel better about my ant! lol. This ant is practically a member of the famil now actually so it isn't so bad anymore..... I knew that cockroaches could survive being micorwaved but I had never heard of pne permanently living in one! Thanks for sharing this (I think!) and I hope for your sake he is one of those bachelor cockroaches and has no family.

It's been a year however did you get the problem solved? My sister had a plasma screen t.v. that when they delivered it had a roach in between the screens it was annoying..they took it back brought it back a week and a half later they gave her 2 weeks free on the rental since it was a rent to own. Only way I can think of is that it was inside and found a little opening somewhere and burrowed it way in..

Well,That would be annoying then not being bale to get it out. Mom said Hi by the way. Did you talk to the manufacturer of the computer or where it was bought to see if it could have been replaced? Poor little ant..must have thought it was in a new ant farm home..lol

Please pass on my regards to your Ma in return for me. I haven't seen her for ages and hope she's doing fine. I could've sent the laptop to a service centre I guess, but the time it would've taken them to fix and then return my computer would have ended up annoying the crap out of me! It's a heck of an ant farm option if you ask me!

Heya Becca! Nope, I didn't solve anything on the ant front and the little bugger is still stuck in the same place as always! He's become a little bit lighter I suppose, but aside from that. he's encased in all his glory! Thank goodness it wasn't a roach though. I'd probably freak a little if it was a roach! I agree with you that the little dude's found an opening somewhere, I'm just not sure WHERE!

Hi there James.
Yes that sounds nasty and i do wander how you ever got rid of it.
I get a similar discontent feeling about the dust that gets behind my mobile phone's screen because i can't get it out without opening it... which i haven't done yet.

Heya elitess. I never actually ended up getting rid of it and it's still in there! lol. I'm so used to seeing it there now that it doesn't bother me at all anymore. It was frustrating at first though because it was a new laptop at the time. I hear you about the dust in your mobile too because it's SO dusty here in Cairo. I don't like to open up the handset casing either if I can help it, but sometimes there's no choice.

Hi James,
An ant behind the screen? That definitely sounds like something out of the twilight zone!! You are so lucky that you get crazy stuff like that happening to you!! I would love to have some variety in my life by having crazy things happen from time to time! Can I ask a question though? As a child did you ever kill ants or burn them through a magnifying glass with the heat of the sun? I'm thinking to myself that if you had done this, then maybe the ant has returned to haunt you!!! As a child I use to do horrible things like that, shameful I know but I haven't been swamped with ants or anything! How do you get the ant out? I have no idea. Does the laptop still work? Andrew

Hi Andrew. Lucky? I have always like the "silver lining" attitude so good call on that front! Maybe it IS a karmic thing? I am sure at one stage or another I did break out the old magnifying glass and play God! In Australia when I was a kid there was an insect that was called an "Ant Lion". These used to bury themselves in the sand and had finnel shaped traps of sorts that they used to catch ants and sometimes we used to drop ants in the funnel; to see them come out and grab them! It's all making sense now! Hmmm. The only way to get it out is to take aprat the screen and put it back together unfortunately. Thankfully the laptop stills works perfectly well; it is just that of course my eyes are always drawn to this bloody ant and even though it is the size of a grain of rice or so, it seems bigger than a house! lol. Thanks for responding.

Haha ! Frustratingly weird, that should be my middle name...
Yes these things do happen to me. We have a very strict Librarian at college and I went to make my library card. I had just one pen and she was in a hurry (as always). If I wouldn't have gotten outta her office in the next 5 mins, she'd took out her pistol (I do have a weird imagination) and shot me ! And lo ! My pen falls and goes under her desk...
I have a form to sign and my only pen is under the devil's lair ! And there's just me and the devil, and nobody else to help me ! Yipes ! Now wouldn't you call that "Frustratingly weird " !
Oh and thats not all, I've many such "incidents". You'll get to know them sooner or later...
About the ant, James, there's an ant, there sure must be something sweet behind your laptop screen

Jeez, for a minute there I thought you were gonna blow my story clean out of the water by telling me you had a Librarian stuck behind your monitor screen!!! LMAO Yep, you have a weird imagination alright! I'm sure that there are some of us out there that have had female Librarian fantasies before, but rarely would they include devil lair's and pistols! Whatever that ant was going after, he failed miserably! It's a heck of a way to achieve immortality though I'll give him that! (I think it's a "him" but I'm not sure to be honest. He's way too small for me to be able to see his privates)

Librarian behind my screen !!! LMAO ! Wish that was true. I'd forever switch off the monitor and throw away the whole thing... Man she's a pain.. From the day my college has started till now, its been three years and I've issued ONE book, just ONE book James !
Oh I so wish she were trapped behind my screen... And that too a flat one

If it's stuck behing the screen, how did you find out it's there?
Not a joke, I am seriously wondering about that .
It's very odd though, the places they build these things should be very clean and in my opinion having a bug free working place is one of the required standards for a clean working place .
Perhaps they will not only sell debugging software in the future but also debugging kits for your hardware, lol.

I just saw the pick, so now I know .
Very odd... can you send it back to the manufacturer? This is an error so they should fix it and if you have just got it they need to fix it for free.
We haven't a clue on getting it out, hope they do! , otherwise they need to supply you with a new one!

I am happy you worked it out then! lol. Bad picture I know but it was the best I could do for now..... The problem is that something like this is not covered by the warranty. This ant crawled in there about 6 weeks AFTER I bought the laptop and because it is not a hardware or actual PC problem then they are not accepting responsibility. The "De-bugging" angle just didn't cut it! lol. Oh well. At least I will always have a strong conversation starter! Thanks for responding and keep a constant eye on all ants!

Wow... that's odd.
There must be a flaw that made it possible for the ant to crawl in to it in the first place? You might have strong case there, sue them for all they've got!! LOL... at least you'll allways have company on your laptop ;) Or even in it!

So, you have a 'bug' in your hardware? What's unusual about that?
Hmmm... frustratingly wierd things?
Some day I'll tell you about the time I thought a nuclear war had started but it is a long story. Turned out to a bunch of odd coincidences in the middle of the night.

Lol! Yes thats it..... I have actually acquired myself an ACTUAL computer bug! Your nuclear war story reference immediately made me think of the "War of the Worlds" story over radio many years ago that set everyone off in a mad panic! Hopefully you will share it soon then? Thanks for responding.

That is really a sad thing. I hope there was no damage done. I had some ants on my laptop but it was on the keyboard. Though I cannot figure out how many were there but I saw some coming out. I shake my laptop a little bit and there were no other ants coming out. It is really frustrating when this insects enter our gadgets. Most especially if they cause damage.

Thankfully there's no actual damage to the PC in any way, but at first, it was really annoying to keep seeing the little dude suspended there! lol. Nowadays I'm so used to seeing him behind the screen glass, I hardly even notice. It's a decent sized ant as well, so how he got in there in the first place is intriguing in itself!

how did it get there is what I want to know. That is crazy!
I don't recall anything like that ever happening to me.
Oh well, I guess you could consider this crazy as well:
I was in a store shopping with my mother, and the clothes were kind of shoved together on the racks (too many clothes on one rack). Anyway I was looking at clothes and when I turned around I noticed my hair felt kind of heavy. So I reached back and there was a hanger in my hair! I asked my mom to get it out and she did after she was done laughing. You wouldn't think that the hanger would get stuck in my hair like that but I guess it did.
Not as crazy as an ant stuck behind the laptop screen. The only thing I can figure is if there is like a little slit, ants are tiny so maybe he wiggled his way in there. I don't know though, it's still CRAZY!
It's not ants in my pants with you,
it's ants in my laptop!

This is the thing; I have NO idea how it got in there? And its not one of those tiny ants either..... I am beginning to think that maybe the CIA are involved? Hanger in the hair? Yes, it is hard to work out how this managed to happen also?! Thank goodness your Mother was there with you! At least this ant gets to somewhat live forever..... AND he's ended up framed! lol. Thanks for responding.
