I'd have to say the best president in recent memory would have to be Ronald Reagan. He took over from possibly the WORST president in recent u.s. history, Jimmy carter. I'd have to say thatbefore reagan, the last really good president was Franklin roosavelt. A lot of people say John kenedy, but apparently as a president, he was actualy pretty fumbling, his one major acomplishment being confronting the soviet union durring the Cuban missle crisis. Other than that, his forign poicy was a disaster.

In the U.S. we are taught about the good ones and made to think that they were better than they were. Only a handful of our Presidents were really worth anything. Washington, the first to put together the "Best and the Brightest." Jackson, who settled some domestic and economy issues for more than a generation. Franklin D. Roosevelt...during his first three terms he was the best of all time. Ronald Reagan...for ending the cold war, even at the cost of selling out his own party's principles. Honorable mention to Woodrow Wilson and Harry Truman. I'm hoping to see Obama there but only time will tell.
