Blood donation for the poor; did you ever donate a part of yourself?

There is an on-going activity right now in my workplace which was organized by well meaning people. This is a massive voluntary blood donation campaign meant to collect blood and donate these to poor patients in the hospitals, who are in need of it . It is heartwarming to see that people from all walks of life are dropping by to donate a part of themselves – their blood. There are indeed so many generous people in this world.
I have noticed also that during times of calamities people go out of their way to help. Just like in the 9/11 bombing in the US, the earthquake in the Philippines in the 1990’s, etc. Everyone wanted to help. Strangers extended their helping hand to strangers. This indicates that the world has still great hope of being a peaceful place to be. Wouldn’t it be good to be generous even on ordinary days? What about you? Have you in any way given/donated to people who were in need? This may not mean material things only but more importantly –you donated a part of your self (time, concern, etc.)

yes i do.....we have to make donating blood with regularity a part of our life....the process is simple and safe. Minority Groups have something special to give. Different groups of people have different percentages of blood types. Thus it is important that every ethnic group participate in blood donation programs.
Remember: you can save the life of any poor, of a friend, a neighbor, any person in need and also a family member.
