Well, I left for college at 18, hated it and transferred schools so I could live home again. Then at 22 I moved 3 hours away to be nearer to my boyfriend, got pregnant and moved back home again so my parents could help us out until my boyfriend graduated. We were married at 24, and moved 8 hours away, and this time it is for real. I think 20 is a good age, but don't be against going back if you want to. I am very glad I had that opportunity to get even closer to my parents before I got married.

I moved out at 18, got married and have two wonderful children. But with college becoming more & more of a neccessity, living with your parents until you finish high school is turning into staying with your parents until you graduate college. So 20 is a good age for how life is in this day & age.

I left when I was 17. It was right for me, though, although it wouldn't be right for most. I went through many hard times while I was younger and ended up growing up a lot faster than I should have. Being at home was a mess for me. My mother and I didn't get along well due to neglect/abuse problems when I was younger and I couldn't stand living there. Moving out was the best thing I ever did. For you personally, whether it's too early depends on a few things. Do you have a steady job that makes enough to support yourself? Have you looked into getting your own place? Can you care for yourself? Do you have a vehicle (or at least access to public transportation)? Things like this are important to ask yourself before making the final decision to move out.

I was pushed out when I was 18. Luckily I had learned how to fly before I was kicked out.

You will know when the time is right. If your parents are willing to let you stay, stay, unless it is causing problems with you and them.

I was 19 when I left home. I left because I had my son then. I think if I hadn't had him, I would have probably waited longer. As it happens, I ended up movine back when I was about 21 or 22, so 19 may have been too early (I won't say for certain because there were a lot of things which led to the situation) but then I left home again at 24 which I think was a good age. I don't think it really matters. If you're ready at 20, go for it. There's no reason not to if you can afford to.
