Pet rats anyone?

I've had pet rats for over 10years now. In my mind they are the ideal pet. They are more intelligent than a hamster (apparently they are just as intelligent as a cat), they are cheap to keep and they are extremely loveable. Anyone else got any?

No, absolutely not! I have a huge fear for rats, micce, gerbils, hamsters....... I even stopped dating a guy as soon as I found out he had a pet rat. He was the type guy to play jokes alot of the time, and I could just see him playing a joke on me with the rat! No way, I did not give him the chance!

I am a big fan of rats, though I don't have any at present I have fostered them before. (My roomie and I do rehab and rescue) They are fun and intelligent creatures. If I didn't have my sugar gliders I would probably have rats. I also like my gerbil, and plan to have Robos.

I adore rats. definitely more intelligent than hamsters, and less nervous too, so they are very bold and interact well with humans. I love my rats. two girls, Kitten and Luna. they are glorious Agouti Hooded little beauties. and so intelligent and affectionate and clever and funny.

I don't have any now, but I used to have pet rats when I was little. They were very nice pets, and if you handled them a lot, they were really friendly. A lot of people have big misconceptions about these animals, but they are great pets if you are willing to put in the time. Maybe when I get done with schooling I will get myself some more.
