ive been overweight all my life, and just recently, the doctor told me ive reached obesity level 1, which somehow scared me, because my mom's diabetic and i have high chances of being one too, unless i watch carefully what i eat and really live a healthy lifestyle. ive reenrolled myself in the gym, and have been working out religiously, but as of this writing, i still havent shed off any pound. i gained another 2 pounds!!! said the physical trainor that its possible some of my fats have been converted to muscles thats why i gained weight. i tried every means possible to lose the excess fats and pounds -- from all the slimming medicines, herbal infusions, vigorous workouts, and stict diet which only made me feel so deprived. can someone tell me please what can i possibly try this time, which hopefully could work finally? any advise? ive known a lot who survived a weight problem, but its just that all my efforts are futile.

Try eating smaller meals more regularly. Apparently you can re-program your metabolism, by eating 5 small meals a day rather than 3 large as we tend to. It also puts less pressure on the body. Generally people find they loose more weight this way than dieting. Remember to moderate exercise and be consistant with it, burst sof exercise are no good for you. With regards to diabeties, I have heard great things about Neem being able to help put the body back on course. A friend of mine was close to loosing a toes due to diabetes and was recommended Neem by another firend, 3 mths later the Dr has cancelled the operation as her toe is completely healthy again.

I've done some great research since finding out about Neem, but thought it better you read for yourself. I buy items from neemgenie online, irrespective of that they have some good links to medical info available and neemtreefarms has some great info also. I wish you luck with everything!

first: eat breakfast second: be reminded that people have been eating lots and lots of meat and sugar and oil for a century now, this century of economic advancements and the rising middle class, but only recently (the last 20 years or so) has obesity become a problem. Think about what the middle and upper class people did before to stay healthy (without any medicines, or diets, or any other "miracle" treatments.) third: it MAY be due to genetics, but that doesn't mean it's not possible to lose weight. fourth: it's normal for females to have slightly more body fat percentage than men. fifth: don't go on diets. your body needs sugar to provide energy, salt to absorb the energy, and fat to store energy. but don't eat too much high-energy food (measured in calories) if you generally don't lead a very active lifestyle.

BMI of 18.3 kg/m^2 means normal weight -- oh im so envious of you ;-)mine is 28++ kg/m^2 -- long way to go!! ilove the fifth item you said. DONT GO ON DIETS because the body needs the sugar, salt and fat.. maybe ill just stick to the 1200calorie diet plan suggested by my nutritionist, at least she didnt asked me to go on starvation -- only HEALTHY EATING.. this site has a BMI calculator, i used it from time to time http://www/consumer.gov/weightloss/bmi.htm

First of all, doctors know little about the effects on us and the fact that they have levels of obesity is just further proof. Don't make yourself sick over it. What works best is modifying your diet to cut down on fat and cholesterol (the real danger), and then exercise at least 30 minutes a day. Exercise doesn't have to be strenuous so much as regular. Walking 30 minutes a day is low impact and works very well...walking more works better. Don't waste any money on any gimmicks. Pushing yourself in the Gym can lead to weight gain even though you are losing inches because muscle weighs more than twice as much as fat. Unless you modify your diet and exercise in moderation you may not lose weight. Keep in mind, most people looking at you probably wouldn't ever venture to call you "Obese." Obesity 1 is a joke.

thanks, really appreciate the friendly tone. i couldnt help but agree on everything you said. you're right, i have lost some inches over 3 months, but gained 2 more pounds. ill keep in mind your advice. regarding walking, i am taking more than 10,000 steps a day, monitored by a pedometer,. because as suggested by my company's health and safety specialist, 10k steps is good for your heart.

try green tea, there's a pill that you can take- OTC & it's supposed to help you burn fat. I know it's frustrating-- I'm not getting much sleep at night- DS keeps me up! and I want to work out but I'm just too tired. good luck to you

My advice to you would be to lose the scales, and just base your goals around the way you look. If you don't like how you look in the mirror then go for a walk. Skip a couple of snacks. You should get a paper round, that way you would get money for ''working out'' and you have to do it, as you would not get paid, and may get fired, if you didn't. As for the gym, I think this is a total waste of money. For the money you pay for membership, you could probably buy half of the equipment yourself and have it in your living room, that way there would be no getting away from it!

I am not a doctor or a trainer but my best advice would be to sit down and plan out some meals cut the food you would normally eat in half limit yourself to one desert a week, say on a friday and if you can afford it invest in a treadmill where you can walk for an hour at night or in the morning watching your favorite show. while there is commercials use a slight job and as you get stronger you will turn that into a full run for those 4 mins. Now, dont turn to the crash diets, pills, and meal plans. those are all nice for a few months but when you go off the pills or meal food you gain it all back. pounds dont just fall off overnight you have to work for it theres no way around it. you will feed so good about yourself. this i promise
