Hey,
I just recently started my first semester at the local community college. Monday was my first day; but classes officially started the 23rd for people who were enrolled in Saturday classes. So far, I can say that my experience has been interesting. The only problem is that a lot of people from the local high schools enrolled here, and they brought their cliques with them. A lot of people are still struggling to get over the mentality of only wanting to stay friends with familar friends. It's hard to break into a old group.
I've been told that it changes.
(Sort of like how everyone the first day dressed nicely, but as the days goes on I see more pajama bottoms and sweat pants.)
My college has been having activities the whole week. The first and second day they had a table set up outside the main eating area giving out stress balls, candy, and raffle tickets. Today was the carnival. Every bank in the area came, and they didn't seem to get what I already have a checking account, and that, no, I was not interested. I did get a library card, a piggy bank, and a $20 off coupon for a Verizon Wireless phone.
That, and candy. I'm not going to argue. I like candy. I like free stuff.
Plus, it was nice to be able to play games and eat free food (hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy).
The campus is pretty big.
What was your first day, or week, at college/university like? How hard was it to transits from high school to college? What did you like about the experience and what did you hate?
And, if you are in college, what are you taking?

Right now I am in college. I really like college because it's really fun and pretty soon I'll graduate and be a real adult. My high school was pretty small and from what I know I am the only one from my high school to go to this university. There was this one girl from my high school but after a few weeks I didn't see her again so I'm guessing that she transferred out of the school or something. I also like free stuff like you. My college has a career fair and they have popcorn and free pens and candy and stuff. And if you go you get entered into a sweepstakes. I won once and I got some stuff in a bag. They have other activities too. Right now I am undecided in college but I'm about to declare myself a Musical Theatre Arts Major. You started really early! My classes start on the 2nd of September. Good luck with your college experience.

A lot of people drop out, or transfer, after their first semester of college/university. It is hard to tell if you'll like the campus, or if college is for you until you experience it first hand.
My college is similar---we have a career fair every semester, and they do various giveaways throughout the year.
Thank you.
^_^ Good luck, and have fun.
