Okay, today a man came out to show us a sweeper. My friend just started this at home selling business and he had her come out to do her training. Anyway he brought out an air filtration system, and a sweeper. They both came with a life time warranty, and seemed fairly heavy duty. You could use the sweeper on hard woods or carpeting. The air filtration system cleaned air 8x per hour for the entire house. Both worked really well and I was pretty impressed until I heard the price. For both it cost around $4,000. My eyes just popped out of my head.WOW! Would you ever spend that much on a sweeper and air filtration system? What is the highest amount that you would spend? Any suggestions for a good, but inexpensive system and sweeper?

When we were newlyweds (married 18 years now),my husband worked for a very short time selling a particular vacuum cleaner that sells them in your home. The manager came with him as he "practiced" on me at our own home. Halfway through the presentation, she "turned" on us and suddenly it was not practice anymore. If I had not held fast, I think my husband would have been talked into purchasing one of his own systems (complete with its "payment Plan") before he had even collected a pay check from the company yet. High pressure sales! No thank you!
I have heard good things about the DYSON vacuums. I'm not willing to pay the cost required for one though. We have a Bissel (Approx. $85 American)

My Bissel is an "upright" model. I prefer that to the canister style. I have enough attachments for my needs too. My mother in law has a "Rainbow" canister style vacuum that she bought in the 70s I think. She swears by it but I would especially hate dragging the thing around. We have a dog that is a Lab/Huskey mix. Labs shed as it is, but the Huskey side of him means two thick coats of fuzzy type fur each year. It floats around the house like tumbleweeds and I do a lot of vacuuming. My livingroom carpet is dark green and the dog is blond. It don't know what I was thinking when we got him. I guess he was such a cute puppy that we couldn't resist. He has blue eyes too and is quite beautiful. But... I also love to wear black clothing quite often. Not a smart choice either.

We had one of those companies come out and give us a demo like that, then they gave us the price of $1500. We said that was too much and then the girl ended up selling it to us for $850 dollars. It works really good and has a life time warranty, so I think it was worth $850, but $4000 is rediculas especially in this economy. I am certain that, that is their starting piice and you can bargain them down from there.

HOLEY COW is all I have to say. That seems to be a lot to pay for both of them. The most I would probably pay for both is about 500.00. Considering that my sweeper I have works on both carpet and wood floors and also sucks up all the dirt only cost me 149.00. So there for I would only pay about that much. I hope that you have luck.
