Hi meifrank... LOL (also written in all small letters) is a common internet slang that is termed "initialisms", which are used to express bodily reactions as text...in this case laughter. Other forms are roftl (roll(ing) on the floor laughing, bwl for bursting with laughter. Similarly there are bfn (bye for now), imho (in my humble opinion) and many others chatspeak or texting languages used in mobile phone SMS. One can be amazed at how many of these are used everyday in the cyber world of chatting. I hope I shared something...happy mylotting.
