My other pet is a Blue Heeler (ESAAA) Emotional Support Anti-Abuse Animal. I selected her from for ESAAA Dog School, when she was 2 weeks old, and patiently awaited her arrive to my arms, which wasn't until she is 12 weeks old and had graduated from her school.
The moment I saw her, I knew what her name would be, but wanted to make sure before giving her the name officially.
Solid black, No tail, she looks like a Bear
After she arrived to my arms, I quickly learned she is 'Alpha2' of our home. She did not mind that Rocky, (the black lab) was 2 years older than her, and 3 or 4 times her size, she put him in his place very quick!
Yep, Bear is her name! It fits her well!!!

Not sure if it is interesting or not, but......
I named my pets according to them, their personality, their look... So, they got their names AFTER I knew them for awhile.
My oldest pet is a black lab, I got him when he was just 3 days old, but of course he stayed with his mommy til it was time for him to come to me! He is also DAA (Diabetic Alert Animal).
When he was just a pup, we would go outside and play. I'd throw stick, trying to teach him to fetch. He just looked at me like I was crazy, why would he chase a stick?? he he! One day there was a larger size rock in the yard, and I wanted to move it so we did not hit it with the lawn mower. I picked it up, and threw it as far as I could. My pup ran as fast as he could to get the rock. I thought to myself, you'll chase a rock, but not a stick huh? So, I tested him, he he. I threw smaller rocks, and he would run after them, throw a stick, he was not interested.
So, I named him Rocky. And no, I would not have named him Sticks, even if he had chased them. he he
