on a dinner date, who should pay the bill(s)? guy or the girl?

there are guys who really wants to put their best foot forward just to impress the girl they're dating with & that they'll offer to pay everything. but there are also girls nowadays who also wants to share half of the bill. life is getting harder, & i think it's fair enough to contribute on to something both of you had shared.
and I'm one of those girls. ^_^ ;)

This is the modern age and I think its ok if girls have a share on the dinner bills. My brothers and their girlfriends do share with the expenses whenever they'd go dating.
But personally I think if its just a first dinner date, the boys should really shoulder the expenses. Like what you've said, to impress the girls and its a part of courtship. I also find it for guys who shoulder date expenses for being a gentleman.

for me on the first date, the guy should pay first...that would acceptable...but after that, i would want to share the bill..i am not dating a person for the freebies but also for him right???also for sure the guys is not a billionaire to have money every time... it is fair enough to share bills...
