do you sleep with your eyes half open?

i always get to observe people when they sleep. even at parks, benches, almost everywhere. i have noticed some of them sleeping with their eyes half open and sometimes i think they still arent asleep.. hehe
have you had the same experience? or do you also sleep with eyes half open?

My daughter is like that. I will go in to check to see if she is asleep and she will have her eyes part of the way open but she will be sound asleep. It is really strange.

Well, if I am sleep, I really do not think I'll know whether my eyes are closed or opened, I'm sleep!!!
I suppose, that if you knew this, than you would not be sleep. Just like people who sleep with their mouths open, they are not aware that their mouths are open, if they were they would close it. Some things you are aware of when sleeping, like being cold, or having to go to the bathrooms, these are sensations that will wake you up, but I don't think you would know whether your eyes or opened or closed.
