I started to brisk walk for an hour everyday and lost about 8 pounds in one month which is reasonable. I didn't eat much, I watched what I ate. But I still want to drop a few more pounds by chirstmas. Maybe about another 10-15 pounds.

I'm an "on again off again" exerciser. I'll go on a diet and do really well and then bam! My kids or myself will get sick and I'll fall of the wagon. I'm off right now. I'm trying to get back into the habit thought.

I try to go to Curves 3x a week. When I am unable to go I will walk around the neighborhood. I love gathering wood for our fireplace and this is great exercise.

I go 4 to 5 days a week and play competitive volleyball. I don't think I can do any less than that. Need to stay in shape to feel good not only physically but mentally and to keep my sanity since I have to kids at home. Plus, I want to be able to keep up with my kids whe they get older. They've got a long way to go but I'm making sure I'm in shape now and not try to get in shape then.
For you people who want to get in shape and are contemplating on it, realize it isn't something you can turn on and off. Working out, getting fit, whatever you want to call it almost becomes a lifestyle choice. You really have to make a decision if this is going to be a part of your life. Going for one week isn't going to do anything. Doing this continually will.
I guess it's easy for me because I've played sports and have been a competitive athlete ever since jr.high. At times I want to get lazy, and everybody does, but I've said this to myself, if I don't do this now (or am not doing this now), when am I going to do it?
For you, if you're not going to change now, when are you going to? If you keep putting it off, you're only kidding yourself.
I suggest you go to a gym and set up some personal training or take up a martial art.
Good luck to you.

well I am a fitness freak...though i dont go to a gym but still i manage to keep myself pretty fit by running hard everyday for about 4KMs which keeps my body in shape. And sometimes i also go for swimming like thrice a week which according to me is the best exercise one could possibly have.

Well right now I'm exercising a little. I found a program on the Comcast On Demand under Fitness and its a program where you do a "walk" for a mile, but supposably it's really good at burning excess weight. So until my mom has recovered from surgery and can go down to the exercise place in our apartments with me, then I'm just going to do that every day.
But once I get down to the nautilus center, I plan on using the stair stepper, treadmill and then lifting weights, like doing leg presses and stuff.
