What do you think of someone who rides their bike on the sidewalk and does'nt say "excuse me" and you move 4 them and they don't say"thank you" for you moving? I usually walk because I don't have a car and if I hear a cyclist coming I move for them so that I don't get hurt and they don't get hurt.I had a incident when I was little I was riding my bike on the sidewalk and made someone fall or something and they got hurt and so did I. So I have then learned my lesson. But I just think that it is something maybe be inforced that cyclist have to ride on the side of the road in the bike lane.I don't know if the States have that inforced but here in Canada we have that bike lane reserved for bikes only.It just makes sense. Right? What do you think?

in this world people just care about themselves or people related to them. when they see you in the way they may be thinking 'may get out of the way i am on my way to meet to friends'. i think we just have to accept this or else where can they ride their bikes on the road?

We have cycle lanes here... but not very many and they are usually quite short stretches. I would love for cyclists to have their own lanes on every road and much stricter regulations! I think it should be compulsory for cyclists to wear helmets, have insurance and have their bikes tested and certificated as roadworthy. There should also be a cycle test which, when passed would offer a discount on that insurance. Pavements/sidewalks are for pedestrians and I believe the onus is on the cyclist to move out of the pedestrians way. I speak as a driver, pedestrian and cyclist.

Well I just moved to canada this summer with my fiance, I'm from the states. I never biked in the states, but most of the time I came across one they were on the road. It frustrated me. We dont have bike lanes so they would be holding up traffic where as they'd like to think they're speed racer on two wheels. I think its better for them to stay on the sidewalk than in the middle of the road. I live in Ottawa now, and there is a bridge that people arent supposed to cycle on the sidewalk, but they do, they even have signs posted about being fined... but when it all boils down to it, I think I'd rather a bicyclist running over a pedestrian than a bus running over a cyclist :)
