With the increase of advertisements on TV programs, some people think advertisement should be banned. I think instead of banning all advertisements altogether, we should increase the monitoring of advertisements and censorship over advertisement.
The reasons can be summed up as the following: On the one hand, advertisement is the product of our modern society and the result of the information era. It can bring us a lot of convenient by informing us the latest products and the newest trend. We are then spared of the efforts to try to find out the needed information. Thus, a lot of time and resources can be saved. On the other hand, advertisement floods into our life, takes up the TV time and fills up the public space. Furthermore, we can't distinguish the advertisement with the genuine information from the ones telling lies. In this case, advertisement ceases to provide convenient, but only annoyance.
My suggestion is that we should impose the stringent criteria on the advertisement censorship and examinations. Only in this way can advertisement regains the function as a communication means.
