Hello, I am a big Ebay-er, and I recall my first win off of ebay, it was a chinese wooden fan. I loved it sooo much, and was heart broken when it got broken by someone who couldn't stop playing with it....grrrrr. Do you recall your first win? Or the first item you sold on there? Or the item you were so happy to have won? Please, feel free to share your stories!!

I don't remember the first thing I won but I remember the one that affected me emotionally. I bought it for a new customer for her wedding. She likes horses and I saw a miniature at a bargain price on ebay. At the time I had a store and she was the first person that signed a good deal of money. I was excited, I spent all the time I could for her wedding plan and even faxed back and forth to her parents in another province because she asked me to do so. Even my husband cared so much about it. We felt that she had to get what the money was worth. Yet all we got was a cancellation along with her and a relative treatening us about legal dispute. Since we didn't do anything wrong, we talked to our lawyer and he said not to worry because we also had it all in writing. We returned whatever money and I never ever replied to the call her father made. He said sorry. and what would that word do? It won't give us back the time and effort we gave to her and her family. It won't pay us the mileage of looking for all the crap she asked us to find. I still have the mini horse I bought her. I keep it as a remainder that I am a business, not a charity. Nothing will be free for anyone. I will provide after I am paid. I will not provide for what people don't pay in advance. It's been 3 years now and I never meet a bride like that. Emotional brides are common, I met them all the time. That's why I can tell difference between emotional people and people without integrity. Sorry for the long story. I have to let it out.

oh forgot to add. about the legal dispute threat, we told her that we spoke to our lawyer and somehow this threat disappeared into thin air we returned some money, even if it meant we didn't get paid for mileage and time We really are not money monger. In a way I was glad that the cancellation came early, that way we didn't have to spend more time and effort for her wedding

Right on! What were you selling? And did you end up getting a price you were expecting? Better than? Lower than?

The first thing I won, was a set of used business phones. They were very well taken care of. A small business just so happen to close their store and needed to get rid of somethings. I constantly shop on ebay because of the variety of things they have to offer. I used those phones in my home, and also gave a couple away to relatives. I have never sold anything on ebay, I just love to shop!!

The only things I have bid on (and won on them) are video games. I have won quite a few though, for really cheap. So yeah I am very happy to have gotten them! As for selling, I have never done that. I always worry about not getting what I want in return. Have you sold anything on there?

Ohhh....what games did you win? And as for selling, very easy! make your paypal account, unless you already have one, and make sure that you make it very clear on the selling page the shipping charges, or if you're unsure of what they would be, make it clear that the winner of the auction has to wait for an email from you regarding the shipping charges, after you know their shipping address. Either way, you get the money BEFORE you have to send the item out to the winner. I sold some Harry Potter cards, some weird battle game, they were obsolete at the time, so I found them in our local dollarstore haha.
