I was trained a lot on this in my previous job, a lot of social service agencies are training their employees to be on the lookout for elderly abuse.
Financial elderly abuse is usually committed by relatives, ie, children, nieces, sons and daughters in law. If you see a senior in a bank with someone younger, and they seem disoriented or are pulling out a large amount of cash, you usually want to take a few minutes to talk to the senior and gauge the situation.
Physical abuse is more likely a CNA or home health aide, nurses, and the like. If a senior becomes so disoriented that they can't report it, a lot of lazy staff will take advantage and get rough with their patients.
It's really sad, but now that people are becoming informed about this they can be on the lookout for it!

i think mostly its the caregiver who did the abusing or something..and it usually occurs in nursing home or in home for the aged..im just sad why this caregiver do such things..they have older parents too and through the passage of time they will be also..
