let go and be

It is important to set goals for ourselves, but sometimes these goals cause us undue frustration and we may want to rethink what is important to us. Reflecting on whether or not our anxiety is justified just might give us a new perspective on life. We may, for example realize that by letting go of high standards, we may actually open up to a completely new way of being in which the most important thing is the joy that we feel at the moment. Learning to let go and simply be will often give us real peace of mind. When our perfectionist tendencies come out in full force, nothing seems good enough and that often pulls us away from what is really important - finding satisfaction in each and every moment. Setting goals that are more realistic, and letting things happen naturally will help us be a happier person. Give yourself permission to be who you really are each and every day and find a deeper sense of inner harmony. What are your thoughts?

I really believe that we learn from our failures ,and this is what help us improve in order to achieve our goals. I believe that winners never quit and quitters never win. On the other hand, what is success for one person might not be the definion of success to another person.

I not only give myself permission to be who I am, but I also know my limitations very well. There was a time about 10 years back when the world around was rosier and greener and my eyes saw everything in rainbow-tinted glasses, that I wanted to do a lot of things and earn a lot of money. Life was straight out of story books on strong successful women and I badly wanted to emulate them…both in money and position and marriage. I failed miserably in all three. However, all was not lost. To cut a long boring story short…I have now accepted life as it comes with the firm belief that ultimately HE will bail me out of any situation. Yes, HE has never let me down and that remains my greatest strength. Sometimes though I do get waylaid, specially with future prospect of my only child but then again I know that whatever will happen, will happen for the best for me. I do not need to set any goals, it has been set by HIM and I just need to flow along and enjoy life.

Hi Pose123! I am in complete agreement with you my friend! Contentment and acceptance is what made my life easier and gave me peace within. I admit that I still go after my dreams but just like you have said, they are more realistic now than when I was so much younger and knows no better. I have learned to adjust and flexible with time and life. And I hope that in time, I will be aging gracefully in the eyes of God. Take care always..God Bless!

I think there is alot of wisdom in which you say. Unfortunately it is sometimes easier to say then to do. I wish that we could do something to always live by these standards. They are very important for all of us to adhere to. I think we are often going to do so but we need help to do. I like to listen to philosophy.
