When we hear about sushi, all comes in our mind must be a raw fish with rice and soy sauce. Since most sushi are made from raw fishes, what about the hygienicity of it? Is sushi contaminated of some kind of fish germs or another microorganism? Is it still safe for us to consume sushi every day? Sorry for all Japaneses here, please, don't take offense. It's only my curiousity.

The grade of fish that sushi chefs use is the highest quality you can get. It has to pass a very high standard of inspection from various sources. I think that sushi is probably one of the safe things to eat because the fish has to be very fresh.

Hei Sedel. Thank you for responding. Still i'm little bit not sure about eating sushi too much. Sometimes is cool but too much is not cool anymore. Sushis are delicious, but my health is more important.

It all depends on how the food is handled. That's why I don't take chances with ordinary grocery sushi (here in the Philippines). If raw fish is not handled properly, microorganisms will contaminate it - just as how they contaminate raw meat if also not handled well (also the reason why I don't eat burgers in very cheap places). However, if there is proper handling and preparation, being raw in itself is not harmful:)

I have issues about hygiene, but sushi is not one of them. Sushi chefs use the freshest fish. They are also constantly washing their hands, preparation area and equipment so it's spotlessly clean. Sushi rocks!

nope,it is clean.they put it with lemon which kill the germs and stuff. Its almost like eating oyster. Tepanyaki is the best.
