'THIS JOB IS TOO HEAVY...TO...HANDLE...BY YOURSELF....' EXODUS18:18 TLB
During their journey through the desert the Israelite looked to Moses for everything, & he was wearing himself out trying to meet their expectations. When his father-in-law saw how much time this was taking he said,'Why are you trying to do all this alone,You're going to wear yourself out, this job is too heavy to handle by urself.Find some capable, godly, honest men,and appoint them. That way you will share the burden,be able to endure the pressures, and there will be peace and harmony'.Moses listened & followed this suggestion'(Exo.18:14-24)
Some people seem to have a 'superhero' complex which make them think that they have to do everything on their own. One of the best lessons you can learn is how to delegate.Delegation is a word used a lot in the business world. It means instead of shouldering all the responsibility for a big job, the manager will choose workers or people who are responsible & trustworthy & give them some of the responsibilities. Delegating; or basically asking for help; is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Sometimes our pride gets in the way of asking 'coz we think people will think less of us but that's the fast lane to meltdown! Asking the right people (that is the key by the way!) for help strengthened Moses for the job of leading Israel the way God intended.
Unless you learn to delegate, you'll fall to pieces. As you start to lead groups and projects it's easy to get these tasks fitting perfectly in your shoes. Paul says: 'Do not think you are better than you really are'. (Romans 12:3)

I think a lot of times people think they can do all things on their own instead of looking to God for help. For me I feel like I cannot do anything without God at my side. I ask him for guidance and wisdom. We cannot do anything without God we need him with all aspects of life.

yes! that is very true. When we ask God for help, sure He will help you, but also be humble enough and admit to yourself that you are nothing without God. Thanks for the comment. God bless you
