Yes, I had this small battery powered keyboard when I was younger and it stopped working so I assumed that the batteries had run out, so I opened it and it turned out one of them had burst and I got battery acid all over my fingers and all over the carpet.
It was horrible, as it irritated my hands for several weeks after the incident.
