Would you? But what if he/she gets so offended that the friendship may end? I know I would. Of course I will not say it straight to their face. I can start with, say, " Hey, as a friend I want to be honest with you". Then you may want to make sure whether you can be honest with that friend by asking him/her. If he/she says yes, then you can say "I am sorry but do you use any kind of deodarant, perfume, bodyspray or cologne at all? because you kind of smell unpleasant". If your friend looks very offended then try to explain that you are trying to be honest as you are a true friend. Also that it is better that you are the one trying to tell them rather than or before anybody else say anything bad about your friend. I hope that is helpful.

For me, i will never tell her directly that she got a BO, coz im sure she will get offended and hurt with that. i maybe tell her through gesture and action, or i will introduce her a deodorant with a nice manner.or i will give her a perfume as a present so that she realize that she got unpleasant odor. cheers!

actually back in my college year, i have a friend who have body odor. im not the only person who can smell it but also our other friends. we actually did plan to talk to her but no one really is brave enough to tell her.
later we tried to make it as a joke, just not to hurt her or show her that we dislike her.
she actually admitted it and said that its her problem too.
we really don't know why can't she managed it. but we are already used to her smell, so at times we just ignored it!!!
