is putting ones pic on orkut safe?

it is not safe to put ur picture in any forum or social networking sites, as the pics can always be misused by others. if u really want to send the pics to ur friend then u can send it through email as attachment. this process is safer than posting ur pic to displayed to the whole world.

Orkut is a best site and its safe, however donot post sensitive details on it and use uncleared photos just for your friends to identify.

Well in the profile i don't mind putting my picture. I have put it many times in fact.I don't think that would be too risky as such. Usually if pics are stolen and misused its from the albums i guess are they are bigger and higher resolution ones. Orkut has given us the facility to lock ones album with all their pictures. So that is what i have basically done. Since my album has been locked only friends who i have accepted and are there in my friend list can view my pics. So I personally feel there wouldn't be any harm as such putting up your picture in the profile. Its mostly gals are the ones who have to be more worried about all this and i guess your a male from your user name.

Well, on Orkut you can always make your scrapbook and albums private so that only your friends (i.e. people you trust) can see and use them. So in that way, it's safe. But then there is the question of whether you trust your friends to not misuse your pics. So it's all upto the person I guess. I wouldn't mind though. It's a whole different ballgame for females though, as their photos are the ones which get misused the most!

according to me if a person knows that doing certain things might harm him so he should not that thing unless he want to be adventurist! so yaar if u find it fishy keep urself off from that! simple as it could be!!!
