patience...is it still a virtue nowadays?

I think we all know about the age-old saying "patience is a virtue". I'm starting to wonder: would it still hold true these days where everything is so fast-paced and activities and schedules are always hectic?
Just the other day, my boss was in a really demanding mood and asked for my group's output report. We both know that software and resource-wise, the company is still on the process of catching up with the client's demands and so we employees would sometimes lag down with our outputs in the process. My boss just said, "well hell, if you still believe in patience being a virtue, you'd lose your job in no time". This got me to thinking: does the virtue of patience still hold true these days? What do you think?

Oh I think it definitely is. Just as I still believe in respect, honesty, honor and integrity. But I believe that in most, there are exceptions, companies and businesses these days, they are not adhered to in any way, shape or form. Most businesses are all about the bottomline and they don't really care how that is reached as long as it is a profit. I think all we can do is take care of our personal lives and teach our children the virtue of patience as well as the other virtues. Could you imagine how much nicer a world right down to the workplace, would be if virtues such as these were held as a code of conduct instead of meet the quota or be replaced.

That is so true. Very well said. Thank you so much. That's just what I need to reassure myself that patience is still a virtue.
