Is it possible to marry someone without ever meeting them?

I'm not talking arranged marriage. I mean you never, ever meet. Marriage by proxy and never,ever lay eyes on each other. So many people say you should marry and i have exactly no interest in doing so. I am 100% hetero but I just like my lonely life. It would amuse me to be married to someone I never met, so long as they weren't a criminal tring to get citizenship. Thoughts?
