Cell phones might eventually cause brain damage? Will you still use it?

There are researches done about the radioactive actions of cell phones in the brain. Some cell phone providers brought out bulletins that the radioactive energy that comes from cell phones are negligible and will not cause brain damage or cancer. (But they said when you dial, don't bring the cell phone directly into your ears while it's still searching of the number because of the EMR (eletro-magnetic radiation))huh? Independent researches are being done to determine if indeed cell phones can be a cause for worry. Pending the results of the independent researchers, will you still use your cell phones not knowing if there would be a damaging effect to your brain?

Of course I'll still be using my cellphone. The problem with some researches is that they sometimes don't show the whole picture. Maybe if your cellphone is glued to your ears 24/7 then I think that would really cause some brain damage. But to just claim that radiation from cell phones cause brain damage or cancer is misleading. There are always claims, like the one that cellphones can cause cars to explode while filling up in a gas station, that are really inconclusive or just completely false. Just an opinion. Peace.

They are only going to report the story of the story that they want you to hear, and the side that they want you to believe. If something does not support their claim, you might not hear about it. A lot of things in the media are biased, even if we are lead to believe that they are not. That's just life.

Just as cell phone companies will always deny any negative effect of cell phone usage, sometimes, the opposite is also true. Your observations are correct. Sometimes things are exaggerated. Thanks for that significant contribution.

Well, I only use my cellphone to send out text messages and eventually receive them. I rarely use it to call out since it's way cheaper to just send text messages. Also, if the risk of brain damage is relatively high then how come we don't see any reports of people being treated for it? Maybe because our brain is already severly damaged and it's already immune to it? lol!

he he he...perhaps, we still don't know, because they are still conducting studies...but we have to go on and enjoy -live our life to the fullest..brain damage or no brain damage. Thanks for that good input. All the best.

I think prolong use can cause serious health problem. If we use cell phone is a proper way there is nothing to worry about.

I have my cell phone for emergencies and have only used it once and kept it as far from my ear as possible. The trouble is I did not learn of the danger until after i bought it and distrusted the messenger (if you live in a country where cell phones are cheap and plentiful, I would not believe it because I feel you are saying that because if another country starts using cell phones in great numbers you may have to pay a higher price). I have seen many with those bluetooth receivers around their ears and I was thinking of getting one, but now I heard they are not that good. The ones that are recommended that block radiation are about one hundred plus. So I guess I will have to save for them.

We were told about Mobile (or Cell) Phones causing brain damage years back, yet nothing has been proven and with more and more people using them everyday, I think the Doctors would have come across it a few times already by now. I also think that's the reason people aren't going to stop using their mobile phones because it's not really believable without proof. I mainly only use my phone to text and occasionally the odd phone call anyway.

Good, at least you were forewarned. Your action is understandable under the circumstances. Who wouldn't buy a cell phone when it's cheap and comes in handy when you want to talk to someone. It will still be your personal choice to use or not to use. Thanks for that vital input.

Ok how often have you seen people rushing to the hospital cos of brain damage or whatever due to cell phones? Its true that mobile devices emit radiation but I dont think its enough to cause any damage to the human brain. I also dont think there is any evidence to support this. Frankly, How many people actually bother about this? mobile phones will continue to thrive until this s proved.

I agree but you know what the reason why we dont see people rushing to the hospital for brain damage do to a cellphones might be, because the doctors haven't caught on yet, or haven't figured out that whatever brain damage there patient has is actually from the cellphones they have been using, maybe its because they event connected the dots yet, and the doctors just didn't think of that, but i definitely agree that until this research is proven that we shouldn't worry about it.

To use cellphone, yes, we don't have a choice if we want to go with the flow of things. To ride the tide of change.. Maybe we should just use it sparingly. Disallowing children to have full and unlimited access to it. And if medical and scientific research prooves that indeed it is harmful and could cause brain damage then something should be done. It could be from global level, each country's discretion or/and ultimately the individual's choice.

The whole "do cellphones cause cancer or not?" is a topic that has been going back and forth. One study will say it increases the risk of cancer, while another study says that the radiation will not be able to effect humans. We are not going to get a clear, stable answer at this point of time. We don't know the true long effect of cell phone use. Does that mean we should stop using them? That is up to the person. Do some research and map out of the pros and cons. Let's face it. There's a study done ever month that claims that this or that causes cancer, and that we should stop using it. We can't even feel safe anymore. You don't know what's going to happen once you step outside your front door. You could be hit walking to your car, or shot on a trip to the mall. Life is not safe, but it is not dangerous. It is truly a game of a chance. But, you are not going to have any 'fun' if you don't take any 'risks.' I will use a cellphone. As a society, we have not been given a solid answer. As I said, it goes back and forth.

That's a powerful rationalization. These are good points. Of course like is always about taking calculated risks. Indeed it would be a personal decision that each one of us has to make. Thanks for that very significant contribution. I'm sure lots of mylotters will agree. All the best.

I know about damage, but still use cell phone. Its very convinient to keep in touch with my friends and co-workers. It became like a part of me and it's always with me. Besides it helps me to communicate with friends from other cities as not all of them have Inet.

I hate having a cell phone and only use it if I have to - when I'm traveling. (But NEVER while I'm driving.) I remember years ago when a man blamed a cell phone for his wife's brain tumor/cancer. People thought he was nuts. Now it appears he may not have been so crazy after all. (His wife used her cell phone ALL THE TIME.) I read (and posted somewhere here - maybe in a comment?) that Canada has advised kids to never use cell phones and teens only 10 minutes at a time (and not much!) because the studies are leaning towards being very dangerous for us. Personally...I'd love to see that technology go bye-bye. But I doubt it ever will.

Yes, all technological things will have both advantage and disadvantage. We just have to weigh these two and decide for ourselves. Thanks for the input.

Hmm .. i'm a little bit unbelieve with this case .... first of all, everybody use cells phone, but none of them are reported suffered from this brain damage, it's a lot of electronic equipment produce radioactive wave frequencies, but i think it's safe for human, once i know is just becarefull using you cellphones when it starting to get warm on the batteries, i heard 13 years old children goin to hospital because his arms was hurt while he is playing the game in the phonecells, it explode right into his hand .... just beware

That's a sad news. Perhaps cell phone companies should place warning signals in the cell phone's surface to warn people about the dangers that may occur. Everyone has a choice whether to use or not to use. It's still is a personal decision.

I dont know, we hear so many different things on the subject of cellphones and brain cancer, i just dont know if i should believe those so called researchers or not, because one minute there telling us they cause brain cancer the next there telling us theres nothing to worry about, so i just dont know, but if at some point they prove without a doubt that cellphones do cause brain damage or cancer then i probably would just use my cellphone less, i dont use my cellphone that much right now any way, but i do use and need my phone.

I think cell phone is become our daily needs. We need it becaue we can call everytime in anyplace and also we can send SMS to our friends. For businessman is very useful. So we already know that the radiation of the phone will damage our brain, but we need it. So we must take the risk to use it. I think if we use a headphone or headset, it will more safe and reduce the radiation effect

This has been part of research for a few years now. It's really no big news. And cellphones don't directly cause brain tumors, too much usage is what actually may lead to a tumor. This is why I don't chat on the cellphone very long. I usually do a minute or two and then say goodbye. I also prefer text messaging because it's more convenient when I don't feel like talking or when I want to plan what I have to say.

i think cell phones are like computers,it plays an important part in our life, everyday we have to communicate to other people,if we don`t use cell phone, imagine what the world will become to?although it can damage our body,we shouldn`t stop using it.like computers,it can also damage our body, why the number of people who use computer become bigger and bigger, that because computers can take to people more benefits than disadvantages. in our life, many things are bad for us,but we still use them,so we shouldn`t judge one thing by only one aspect.

i heard tha cell phones couldnt cause brain damage. ive also heard they can... but i dont think they really can cause any damage. but i dont really know... i mean if somone can prove they can cause some damage then something should be done to cell phones to prevent this damage. if they can prove it true... this could be pretty serious
