Hey guys.
Is that actually possible to listen to music while reading??? I have tried that and ended up closing the books. Hehe. I never listen to music when I am reading. That just distracts me.
How about you?? I have seen people who are doing that. Just amazed.

Even though I do listen music almost all the time, 'cause it just sets a background to me (Which means that I don't really pay attention to it most of the time), when I'm reading it's a different thing.
For me to read, I DO need absolute silence, and that's why I read just before going to sleep: 'cause there's no noises around. =)

Yup, if you can manage it, this background "noise" is actually quite useful in helping one to concentrate!

Yup, I find it kinda distracting too.
So usually, I do not play the music while reading. But if I put my mind to it, I suppose I can try to read anyway.
But if I am gonna lie on the bed to read anyway, I might as well switch off the computer (so no music) and concentrate on enjoying the book.
Cheers!

Hi,
I agree with U. I too never prefer to listen music while reading. Really I salute those people who are reading and listening music at the same time.

yes! i always listen to music while reading(even my subject books!)...even during the higher secondary public exams,i listened to music and i scored some 92% dont that sound good?
For me music is like a meditation. It gets me more concentration! It integrates my mind from other unwanted thoughts,etc,etc,...
MUSIC IS DIVINE

I have seen people do this before also and i have no clue how they do it...Sometimes when I am trying to read a book and my kids have the T.V. on it drives me crazy and I either have to go to a different room or put the book away... Seems like all I take in is the back round noise and when I ge back to the book later i have to reread everything I read when there was back round noise cause i can't remember what I read

Ya you are right. I will also do that. But when I am just so involved in music I will scribble something. Lol.

yeah no problem. i read books while listening to music, watching tv, and sometimes while talking on the phone(only if the other person talks a LOT).
At first music could be a litlle distracting but once you get into the book, you'll block the music out and you'll concentrate on the book. Maybe you should try putting the volume a little down so you can concentrate more on the book

I share a room with my older bro, and he always played some loud metal in the background when i was reading, so i got used to listen to music vhile reading, and even the loudest noises won't draw my attention away from the book ;D
