I have found there are discussion that started with very long sentences but another is use a simple and brief sentences. For me, I always start a discussion with 5 or 6 lines so it look more quality because we must make a quality post not because the earning but also keep our reputation. So I think it is the brief one.
So which you prefer the brief one or the length one ?

hi,
i often find myself responding to discussion that is more than just a few lines, it is because i can understand the discussion well and it gives me better thoughts and ideas to share.
i also find the few liners one just there for the sake of posting a discussion and it just dont give me much drive to response.
anyway, i honestly feel that a discussion should consist different views and that the poster should give a little something that is base on their perspective as well coz it makes the discussion with quality on it in the end.
have a good one.

It really depends on what kind of topic you are starting on.
Most of my discussions are long (more than 10 lines) as my discussions mainly relate to my life and I have more things to talk about.
I think it shouldn't be too long as some mylotters are lazy to read it or find it too lengthy to read it. 10-15 lines are just about the right length.

I think it is not necessary whether you are taking much sentences or less for the starting of any discussion but the most important is the quality of the text.It is not compulsory that you write ten lines or more for a discussion that you are going to start but the main thing is that the other people must get you rightly so that they can reply to you in the best way. What i think and believe is that "say less speak more" so it is always better to start the discussion with the short and attracting text.

in my mind,no matte you write long sentences or brief content.the very essental is that you should express your view of point by the words,at the begining of i use mylot disscuss ,i had thing if you write a long sentence show your interset in that post of content,or you want to make the host understand what you express.

I try to make mine a little lengthy.. when I do I do notice how my earnings get a nice raise .. I look under what my friends post.. and I rate them as well . If a topic does not have an intrest to me I don't bother to read it .. but as long as it catches my intrest I am so there .. Good post by the way

I did start with both b4, and depending on the kind of topic, warrants different length for our topic ^_^ If it's sharing my life experience, i will have a long long description so that the responders are clear and know what i'm saying ^_^
Other than that, most of my discussions are short, maybe just 1-2 sentences type.. lol

hi there,
well, as far as i remember, i started discussions with both type of description. it depends on what kind of topic i started. if i want to know others' views or opinion about some event or news, of course i will tell the story first before asking their opinion. so, that would be a lengthy description. but if it's just a simple question, sometimes (though it's rarely) i will make one line description.

The length of a discussion isn't more important to me than the topic but I do agree that it should be more than just one or two lines. I like to read interesting discussions and it's hard to make a very short one interesting.

I completely agree with that! I don't mind short posts but like you said it's harder to keep a short one interesting. I do find it slightly annoying if people reply with the same thing at every post though especially when it's more than one sentance or a long one.

I suppose that it doesn't matter how long or how many sentences you have, to start a discussion, as long your message is clear.
As long as others understood your discussion, it would be easier to comment or respond. I am sometimes baffled by one-sentence topic; I'm not sure what is expected. On the other hand, discussions with too many words make reading difficult; so I would at times skip!

I see what you are saying. It does make sense. I don't post a lot of discussions. However if I post a discussion I like to make sure it has quality to it in order to receive quality answers.
My responses I like to keep somewhat lengthy because that is goof for reputation and earning.

ive only posted 3 dicussion, one short, one much lengthy and another one is u\in-between.lol.so i dont care much about the lenghth of the discussion.i read a lot of discussions,or be honestly,i prefer it not too lengthy coz english is not my first language, it can be a bit difficult for me to read a lengthy discussion esp.when the topic doesnt interest me.and i may not be too patient to read it through.as to responses, most of mine is 4 or 5 lines.i learnt just now that it helps our reputation and adds our points.that's cool.

I guess it depends on what you want to talk about. If it's a topic that most people are going to understand then maybe a brief introduction would do, but if its something a little more hard to understand, then I guess you would have to go into more detail about it otherwise not many people would understand what you were talking about, and therefore wouldnt want to reply to your discussion.

I prefer an in-between lol.
Personally, I don't like posting too short discussions if possible. I try to post at least a few paragraphs. Too much empty space looks... empty?
Occasionally though, I might have more things to say or I get carried away. So then, I would post lengthy discussions. They are not too frequent though and I think most people here at myLot prefer short and sweet discussions, so to speak.
So I do try to strike a balance and make everyone happy.

Hello winzpc. I think that it depends on the one who starts the discussion. It is ok to me whether it is a lengthy or a short discussion so long as it interests me. In most cases, my discussions are at least three lines or above. But my first few discussions might be short, due to my being inexperienced at the very beginning. lol.

I know what you mean my friend I have seen discussions that are really long and thought out and I have also seen discussions that are one or two words or maybe one or two lines, when it comes to starting discussions I always make them as lengthy as I can for the earnings and to keep my reputation up and because I feel it is only right to give me fellow mylotters something worth reading, but when it comes to responding I do not care if it is brief or lengthy because I will respond to any discussion that catches my eye.

Hi friend!
I usually start my discussions with 4-liners. But it depends on the topic though. For some questions, I ask questions to myLotters. After the actual question, I'd share my experiences on that given topic so that the readers might pickup what I'm trying to point out in my questions. It's quite odd that sometimes, the responses are not related to my point, only to the question itself. I suppose some no longer read the entire post? But I still have some lengthy discussions that I've started despite that.
Have a nice day!
