What do you consider to be a BEST friend?

When you really look deep into your friendships what do you consider to be a "BEST" friend? What do you consider to be a "GOOD" friend and what do you consider to be an acquaintence? Do you have more than one of each?
For me a best friend is someone who I can say ANYTHING to and no matter what they will always be there for you and you will always be there for them. No matter how bad the subject is or what you say to this person, you are ALWAYS able to say anything you want to them. Having a bad day and take it out on this person, they are understanding and dont think a second thought about you and your friendship.
A good friend is someone who you can't tell EVERYTHING to but for the most part is always there for you.
An acquaintence is someone you either just met or you cannot tell them much. Its one of those conversations that you can only do when you have met a complete stranger. You only share so much and you never know if they are going to be there in the long run.
I have at least 3 BEST friends - people I can tell anything and everything to, most have been my friend for over a few years up to half of my life.
The rest of my friends are pretty much GOOD friends. I maybe have a handful of people I consider to be acquaintences and that is because I am not actually friends with them - my man is.

A person who always listen,comments and share almost everything with you and yes a person whos always there till the end. Its nice to have friends like these we both are lucky for having them in our lifes.

very lucky and its hard to figure out who your friend really is until something awful happens in one of your lives to show that the other truly cares for you!!

yeah, its hard to actually find someone that you know will be there for you through thick and thin... I know I had to go through a lot of things in my life to really realize that these people werent leaving my side... thats what I love about them the most

Hi Seasons, I really can't add too much more to the descriptions you have given above really. I am blessed with some excellent friends and one of my best friends I have known for over forty years and we are as close today as we were in childhood which is fantastic. I really value my frineds and have handful that I would class as true best friends, many friends and even more aquaintances, also work collegues and some neighbours I class in this catagory also but one of my nieghbours is in fact an excellent frined too so not all. Ellie :D

I actually have one best friend - Love ya Andri!! -, like 20 good ones and lots of acquaintence, I like to think that I'm a really friendly and nice person... Xp

well thank you!!! He was only 6 months old at the time!! I need to get some new ones but we are going to get those when the new baby is born!! That way they can be in a picture together!!!

I have many friends... but best friends no.. it's sad my situation but there where a time that I used to have 3 best friends.. but they all let me down.. so, now they are just friends.. I agree with you with the considerations that a best friend must-to-have..
