when did you leave your child for the first time?

I have left my baby as young as 1 month with my mother to go out a couple of hours, but beyond that I just couldn't. Last week I left my 2 year old with my husband and mother in law for 3 days to visit my sister. It was a strange feeling, being away from my child for the first time. Watching any child around made me cry and i missed my baby so much. She was fine and stayed happily with grandma and daddy, but I was miserable without her. I hope I never have to leave her again. Did any of you have to go someplace leaving your child behind?

When my youngest daughter was six weeks old I left her with my parents and my two year old to take a short trip to see my sister....I was never so glad to get home. I missed both of them so much!

It is so difficult to be without them isn't it?

So very difficult....and when they were older my parents would take all of their grandchildren for a week.....I would miss them so much and be soooo bored! LOL

I think the earliest I left my son was when he was 3 months old I ended up going into the hospital besides that he was about 9 months old... being a stay at home mom I dont have him leave my side a lot

That's what, when you stay home with your baby all the time, suddenly there's nothing to do, when the baby isn't around.

I'm okay with leaving the kids long enough to see a movie, or do a little shopping, but that seems to be my limit. The only time that I have been away from one of my children overnight was when I was in the hospital giving birth to the next one. My oldest is now three, and his aunt wants him overnight, but I have yet to agree. He and his sister come to the door yelling "Mommy's home" when I run out for milk. I hope the baby does the same thing when he's older as it makes me feel so loved.

I left my baby with my mother in law when she was six months old for the case of that I had to engage in advanced studies.I had no idea though I missed my baby very much.On the weekend when I got home,my baby daughter waves her arms and tears came into my eyes quickly. But she was very happy.
