I went out to eat and my gastro-intestinal system has been miserable ever since.

Have you ever gone out to eat and not felt so well afterward? I think the problem is the amount of fat I ate. BLT and soup was the special. So BLT, cream of brocolli soup, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes. All had some kind of fat in them. I've had enough gas this evening to run my car 8 miles. I hope I feel better soon.

Do you suffer from irritate bowel syndrome? It's crazy since it hits at the worst possible times. Dairy products trigger it. I have problems with sour cream or butter but not all the time. It's so sporatic so I don't risk eating those foods when we are out.
Hope you feel better today,

Supposedly I don't have irritable bowel, but I did have my gallbladder out and when I get more or less fat than usual, my liver isn't a happy camper.

Hi.
Yes, there are times when we eat out that my stomach doesn't seem to appreciate the food. I agree there is a lot of fat used in the preparation of restaurant food. And it seems so rich also. And I tend to overeat when we go out to dinner, just because it's there in front of me, I guess. Hope you are feeling better by now. Take care.

I read one time to take the food you get at a restaurant and divide it in half immediately. Eat half and take half home. First, it helps you to not over eat, second, you get two meals for the price of one. Third, most of the time they're giving you double what you need to eat anyway.
When I am on my diet and I do that, I feel better and I get to eat a great meal twice. I don't know if that would have worked this time, but it could have lessened the discomfort and my husband could have had the other half the next day.

It sounds like the kind of meal I would enjoy myself. I suppose the mashed potatoes had butter or gravy on them?
I made cream of broccoli soup from a mix last week, adding additional broccoli to it as well. the next day I was miserable with the bloating and popping, etc.....
I think it was the broccoli plus the fat for me. It was so good, but I guess I'm getting a little older and can't eat everything I want to, at least in the quantity I did.

I was queezy/bloated this AM, but by noon I was fine. Thank goodness, I had work to go to for noon. Mashed potatoes had butter in them, but no gravy.

That all sounds yummy, but yeah I can see why it gave you gas. I think it is a combination of the fat and the broccoli and cabbage. Those 2 veggies alone will give you gas.
Here is an idea, go out and fart in your gas tank. You will save a few bucks on gasoline.

You made me laugh.I think I had at least 5 fats (probably more because the soup was a bowl). Plus I eat either broccoli or cabbage, not both. I wish it were that simple, then some good could come from all that gas. They do have a cow maneure (spelling?) gas plant at a farm in VT.

Yes, too much fat can do that to you. The cabbage in the slaw can make you gassy, too. But the food may not have been up to par either as in slightly bad. You'll figure that one out, when you get a case of the runs. Even if it is light, something may have been wrong with the food. Hope you'll feel better soon.

Thanks, I hope I feel better soon, too. I think the soup could have been hotter, I had a big bowl, and by the time I finished, it was cool.

Beano's are the best. I went to Applebees and had the chicken & rib basket with potatoes. Beano's will save you from a night of misery. Now it's time for vanilla ice cream.

I've never found beano to be all that great. Helps a little, but not like you would think. Maybe I need to take it sooner or something. Maybe I'll buy some to take before I go out the next time I go out to eat.
