he came in as a slogger at no.7,swinging his bat at every ball to every ball to come,he made a few mistakes behind the stumps, showed his great temprament and also the sense of responsibility, given the tag of a skipper he responded well and bound the players into a team and brought the good habit of winning without any respect for who ever was he aginst,in the last series he showed that he had improve in patience and shot selection and also that being captain makes him a better player, for his service he also recieved the khel ratna award, dont u think these qualities are sufficient to state him the best captain ever for india???

One of the great Australian Captains had once said that a Captain is only as good as his team.
When you ask if Dhoni is the best captain India has had the answer is very simple. NO. There have been many captains before him who have been much better temperamentally, tactically and motivationally. Lets not go into deep past. Just talking about the 2 Captains before Dhoni would make it clear how Dhoni is not the best captain.
lets first talk about the most successful captain India had in terms of results. Saurav Ganguly. Dada was the best captain arguably. There was never a team before Ganguly' captaincy that could copnfidently take on the mighty teams on their sopil. the trend of winning matches on foreign soils started with ganguly's captaincy. never were youngsters more confident than under Ganguly's captaincy. Players like Harbhajan, Yuvraj, Kaif and Suresh Raina were all developed under Ganguly's Captaincy. he had literally ought with the selection committee for Players like Sehwag. Aggression was an alien term before Ganguly took the reign of the Indian team. he changed the whole outlook of the team and made the players believe in themselves. I would say ganguly was a good player and a great captain.
whereas If we talk about Dhoni, I think he is a better player than a captain. he doesn't have the instincts and gut feelings like ganguly. Some of his decisions as a captain are very questionable. There are times when he is seen wanting for ideas. When things don't go his way he doesn't come up with things to change the situation but rather waits for the other team to make the mistake. he lacks the aggression that ganguly had or any other successful captain like Waugh or ponting has. Even Smith and Flemming had more aggression and tactical skills than Dhoni. Dhoni has just begun his run as a captain he has to go far before he can be compared to the greats, especially Ganguly.

i dont think so...
first of all, people start priasing a individual/team immediately after success and tend to critisize them when evr they lose...
in a sport success and failures come in tandem...
so i think dhoni is a good enough captain but not the best/worst and all...
