Hello guys c",)
My head hurts so bad today, i know this is stress and due to lack of sleep... these few days, weeks, or maybe a month i couldn't sleep before 12mn. Usually it would be from 1am-3am so it's hard for me to wake up as early as 7-8 am. And when i'll have the earliest shift (6am) it would be much harder.
I don't know i just can't sleep early, even if i will go to bed at 9pm and close my eyes, my mind walks far and far away from sleeping and listen to the tv even when it's outside my room. So what i would do is to stand up and watch tv again or movies w/ my sisters who sleeps late too until my eyes shuts on its own.I know that this is not good for my health, but what can i do? I need your advice pls.
How about you guys, what time do you usually sleep at night?

I sleep whenever I can most of the time. Tonight, I am going to bed late because I am trying to get my responses up to an even number.

For me, it is usually past mid-night unless I have to get up extra early the next morning. If I have problem falling asleep, I would take deep breaths and count the number of breaths. If I still have problem after an hour or so, I would take out a boring book and try to read it. Guess what? I always work for me. LOL.

I usually sleep between 10:30~11:00...and get up at 6:15.
I suggest that you do some exercise in the evening, around 4 or 5pm. Get your body tired and maybe you can sleep earlier and better. Relax your mind before you sleep, or you can drink warm milk when you can't sleep. Just small suggestion from me. =)

Hi,
Sleeping is a mental relaxation state. If you have any thing troubling in your mind due to your work or any domestic matter or any kind of personal situation that is chewing your mind continuously then is is very difficult to have a sound sleep.
you should try some yoga practices which will calm down your mind and I promise that is really working very well. some times consuming any sweet dish just before bed gives you a immediate sleep.. try it..

OH my.. the earliest time I would sleep would be around 1-2am and that will be the earliest, unfortunately for me, I have to wake up early, around 6am coz my kids has to be prepared to go to school.
Yes, it definitely isn't good for our health to not get enough sleep, but with life nowadays, fast paced and with so many things to do, sometimes we forget how important sleeping is.
I think the best thing for us is to try to relax, take a hot/warm shower, drink milk (if you can tolerate it), sleep or try to sleep in a quiet place. Don't watch or even just open the tv coz it will definitely move you away from sleeping since you are hearing sounds (from the tv). Make yourself ultra comfortable to induce sleeping...
I'm envious of my hubby who's able to sleep on call. He doesn't need a lot of hoopla before going to sleep, sometimes I think that he can sleep standing up (hahaha). Unlike me, like you i have a hard time sleeping, everything has to be quiet and everything has to be comfortable for me, stuff like that.. Well, I try as much as I can though...you should too ^_^

I've had lack of sleep, too. Night and day cleaning and I still didn't get enough stuff clean. But my high speed internet is in, so I can now slow down my cleaning because no one else is coming for awhile.

Ouch!! i felt that mostly when i have and early shift. I had to wake up at 4:30am (just 2-3 hrs of sleep) because i had to be at the office before 6am. It's a good thing now that i could swap my schedule with my officemates who have late schedules for me to have enough sleep. tc always my friend c",)

I usually sleep too around 12am-1am, sometimes, if I am reading that I really wanted to finish, I'll sleep from 2am-3am. I don't know, it seems, I can't sleep early or before midnight, unless, I am so tired or sick. I know, it's unhealthy but can't help it, kinda become my habit to sleep very late especially now that I have a computer and connection in my room.

Hmmm, for me, I don't have a usual time when I go to sleep since my schedule is pretty much unscheduled anyway. I sleep late when I get to do something that requires late hours that would lead to even early mornings before I could actually sleep and there are times when I just feel sleepy after around six o'clock onwards in the evening.
Try taking a batch before going to sleep to ease out the stress from the things you have done earlier?
For your predicament, have you tried doing things that doesn't catch your attention at all? For me, I try to read books, though I know it would be bad for my eyes, I try to read one in a well lit room to lessen the stress in my eyes. Try "Alice in Wonder Land" and "Through the Looking Glass" of Lewis Carroll or any other stories that are still in their original (long and detailed) and not those that are changed for children now-a-days..
If books get you even more attentive and up until late hours, do you have anything else in mind that would surely get you bored? Solve a couple of cryptograms online, cross-word puzzles, Sudokus, or if you prefer, write anything that you want to dream of until you get sleepy.. of cousre, there is no guarantee that it may work and have you dreaming whatever it is that you would write about but, flukes are not far from happening..
Hope that things get better for you in anyway possible.. (^_^ )

I usually sleep early, 9 pm would be my self curfew as this is the time I really feel sleepy and I don't want to fight my body clock.
I do have a strange body clock, ones I sleep late the next several days and sometimes weeks will pattern to what time I sleep late and it takes a while for me to reset my body clock to where it use to. The same thing happens when I wake up in the morning, the only difference is even how late I sleep I always wake up early 5-515am but some headaches at times.

Same here, i have actually not slept before 12am for a long time. Maybe i just got used to it. When i try to sleep before 10pm i usually see myself lying down there for hours untill past midnight still awake. Anyways i also have my shower before sleeping. I think you may be drinking too much caffeine or softdrinks or maybe your body dont't seem to be that tired yet to have a sleep.
Sometimes when i have nothing to do, it really seems hard to go to sleep but I can remember before when i was still in school, when i am studying for a test or exam i usually just fall asleep very fast.
Maybe reading would help you get to sleep much earlier. Based from experince it has really been effective during exams. hehe

Maybe try lying in bed, turning the light off, closing the door, asking the person with the TV on to turn it down and just lie there. I find that if I am bored then I will get tired and then I will fall asleep, maybe it will work for you.
If not then have you tried sleeping tablets, I have never tried them myself as I rarely have trouble sleeping, but I heard that they work well. Maybe she your doctor and see which ones he/she recommends.

Do you know what's bothering you? Work or personal stress? You've got to get to the root of the problem, and somehow find a solution; else you can't go on this way. You'll be tired out, and it's going to affect the quality of your work, as well as your health.
It's different, if we sleep late because we are doing something we enjoy (no stress!). Just like I would only sleep after 12 midnight - busy reading, watching TV or online, chatting or myLotting!
So take care!
