Show hidden files not working

I made some documents on my college computer and when I saved it then I hid it so no one deletes it but the show hidden files and folder option isn't working so is there a way to retrieve it back.When I click the show hidden files and folder option in the folder options and apply it,it revert back to do not show option so I can change it permanently so what might be the problem????

and u can remove it use trojan remover at www.dl4all.com ...search it.. it delete problem like 1.no cd-rom 2.no find 3.no run 4.no folder option 5.disable task manager 6.no usb 7.no drive hit it

I think you have to go deep into the registry and search for that missing file.. if its not found that means.... its been tempered with..i know lots about locating a file and if it was important i would do anything to retrieve a file that ment searching the whole registry system..

It wasn't that important but I need to know as I might use that for other files later.How to search the registry btw?
